Herman's Restaurant School chef cook Herman den Blijker gives ten students who have not been able to get a job, a golden opportunity: a job in a newly opened restaurant in their beloved city of Rotterdam. Depending on the talent of the student, Herman decides who is best in the various roles in a kitchen. It is not a competition or elimination race. The students are judged on their performance, those who don't perform forfeit this golden opportunity, talent and commitment are rewarded, not laxity.
