Escape artist Harry Houdini and mystery writer Arthur Conan Doyle meet when a nun is killed in a locked room under mysterious circumstances. A witness reports a ghost, but Harry is skeptical while Arthur sets out to prove the supernatural does exist. Assisting them is Adelaide Stratton, Scotland Yard's first female officer, who is assigned to the men to keep her out of the way.

A Dish of Adharma
A young boy shoots a prominent suffragette, Lydia Belworth, during a protest. He insists that the woman killed him in a past life, piquing Arthur's interest. Together he and Harry set out to prove or disprove the concept of reincarnation.

In Manus Dei
When a heckler mysteriously dies at a faith healer's show, the trio sets out to determine if the man was struck down by God... or murdered by a human hand.

Spring-Heel'd Jack
A businessman bringing omnibuses to London dies under mysterious circumstances, and soon the city is alive with rumors that the dreaded Spring Heel'd Jack is back. Arthur and Harry try to learn if the murderer is a man or a demon, while Adelaide meets with a mysterious man.

The Curse of Korzha
Merring turns to a psychic, Madame Korzha, to find an abducted girl. She succeeds, but another girl goes missing and the Chief Inspector asks Korzha--as well as Harry and Arthur--to help find the new victim before it's too late.

The Monsters of Nethermoor
Harry, Arthur, and Adelaide are summoned to the village of Nethermore when a man claims that aliens abducted his wife. Meanwhile, Harry continues hs investigation into Adelaide's background and reaches a few startling conclusions.

Bedlam
Two people die in the throes of what appears to be demonic possession. Both of them were recent residents of Bedlam, the infamous insane asylum... where Arthur's father was committed.

Strigoi
Arthur's friend and fellow writer Bram Stoker tells Arthur that someone is following him. Arthur, Harry, and Adelaide soon discover a secret cult of people who believe that they're vampires... and another cults that hunts them down.

Necromanteion
The team investigates a homicidal poltergeist with the aid of Thomas Edison's necrophone: a device that allows the living to speak with the dead. Harry has an interest in the device to contact his recently deceased mother, while Arthur hopes to reunite his family. Meanwhile, Adelaide hesitates to learn the truth about her dead husband.

The Pall of LaPier
A mysterious plague in Canada wipes out an entire town... except for two survivors. As the trio tries to solve the baffling mystery, each of them is plagued by dreams and visions. Doyle begins writing, ‘The Hounds of the Baskervilles.'
