After eight years of silence, Anna suddenly appears at her sister Kat's door, with a coffin on the roof of her car and their parents' ashes in a jar. She wants Kat to go to Spain with her, but after just a few hours together, things go terribly wrong.

Anna's nerves are tested after two meddling Dutchmen hitch their caravan to the sisters' car. In the chaos that ensues, Anna catches a glimpse of old Kat.

A lost earring leads the sisters to an eccentric stranger with a pressing problem. They drink, cook, dance, remain silent, and destroy, until it becomes clear that everyone is lying.

A new farewell rekindles the longing for the past. When Anna continues to bombard Kat with questions, Kat carries out an impulsive plan that goes a step too far and reveals a secret that literally leads her to the abyss.

Anna comes face to face with her sister's dominant husband. Kat herself, after a turbulent night of doubt, faces a difficult choice. What follows is a nerve-wracking chase and a first confrontation with a painful past.

The sisters finally reach their final destination, where nothing is as they remember. As demons from the past intrude, all masks fall, and one final confession puts the journey in its place.
