When Jan misses an important appointment with Robert Hastings, he questions her commitment to their planned joint venture. Avril is livid with Ken when it emerges he has sold his shares to Orin and has opened some of her private post. Vanessa wonders if Jack's marriage proposal is still open and Leo is jealous of Abby's meetings with Orin. Charles rejects a merger proposal from his father. At Highfield, Sir Edward announces his recent marriage to Polly and the fact he only has a few months to live due to a terminal illness.
