Episode 1
The legendary dog handler Lance Mackey has survived both cancer and addiction, but still runs dogs. In Norway, Thomas Wærner is preparing to leave for Alaska, where he will take part in the world-famous Iditarod race.

Episode 2
Dog sledding superstar Dallas Seavey has taken a year off to comment on the sport, and is going to Russia to cover a race. Thomas has a good race with the best dogs.

Episode 3
While Lance is in rehab, Jennifer takes care of the family and the dogs. Thomas is quarantined in Alaska, while his wife Guro manages a house and home school in Norway.

Episode 4
We meet the Freking family who run kennels deep in the mountains of Minnesota. Lance is ready for a fresh start after rehabilitation, but a tragedy strikes the family.

Episode 5
Thomas finally gets to go home to Norway, and is reunited with his family. The dog sledding talent Miguel moves in to help Lance with the children and the dogs, and soon becomes a good friend.

Episode 6
Lance takes the family to Arizona to take part in a car race, and ends up in a dramatic accident. Dallas flies with pilots Matt and Emily across the wilderness of Alaska to check out the new Iditarod trail.
