A dark, twisting tale in which doting daughter Daphne loses her mother and all her inheritance after a mysterious stranger comes into their lives. He gets closer and closer to Daphne's elderly mother and secretly marries her. After her mother's death a bitter legal battle ensues over how her body should be laid to rest and the case ends up in the house of Commons. Plus, the extraordinary case of the Lord whose Ming vase collection worth £8million shattered the lives of his children.
