Insider - Season 8

Season 8
Episodes

Narkobaron
For the first time, Insider has followed domestic drug trafficking closely. Reporter Atle embarks on a journey that shows us how smuggling within Norway's borders is relatively risk-free, but along the way we also learn that life in this industry is hard and leaves deep scars.

Adrenalin
What makes certain people choose to put their lives and health at risk? Kevin is 22 years old and does "buildering", where he climbs on the outside of buildings and on tall cranes. This form of extreme sport is in most cases illegal and has seen enormous growth in social media in recent years. Pål is a few years older, the father of a small child and will soon debut in the ring and have his first MMA fight. Many would argue that MMA is the most extreme form of martial arts and that the athletes gamble with their health in the ring.

Redningsselskapet
There are around one million recreational boats in Norway, which means that almost every fifth Norwegian owns a boat. In recent years, there have been more accidents at sea than on the roads, and an unusually hot summer last year led to a record amount of work for the rescue company. Insider followed life on one of their busiest scooters, Horn Rescue, through the first weekend of the 2018 joint holiday.

Bankboksbrekket
From 1999-2004, a robbery gang ravaged Eastern Norway led by David Toska. More than NOK 200 million disappeared from banks, value carriers and counting centres, and the money has never been recovered. Insider has taken a closer look at the unknown story of David Toska, about the banboks break from 2001 which led to him being nicknamed "the mastermind".

Ulv
Few things engage Norwegians more than the wolf debate. Desperate farmers, angry activists and politicians with an agenda are fueling an already inflamed theme. Insider goes into wolfland to get to know those who love and hate the wolf better.

Cannabisplantasje
Insider has several times been in contact with people who smuggle and sell cannabis, and has for several years tried to gain access to those who grow the illegal and controversial plant. Now we finally meet someone who is in the top tier of Norwegian cannabis production and gets access to one of Norway's largest cannabis plantations.

Helikopterpilotene
Since 2000, there has not been a single plane accident in Norway, while there have been 67 helicopter accidents in the same period. Insider has met two pilots who have braved the risk and chosen this career path. Linda is a young and promising pilot who works hard to reach the top in the tough industry. John Arne has more than 15 years' experience and is considered one of Europe's best forest fire pilots.

De mistenkte
In the summer of 2015, the police smuggled 50 kg of hashish from the Netherlands to Norway. Two years later, three men are prosecuted for the relationship. Now they are fighting a battle to be acquitted in the biggest mafia trial in Norwegian history. Insider has been given unique access to their history. How did these three end up in the middle of the country's biggest mafia trial?

Uropatruljen i byggebransjen
In recent years, the construction industry has become a breeding ground for criminal actors and behind an apparently professional facade hides lousy craftsmanship, fraud and modern slavery. In Trondheim, the industry took action and set up its own investigative group called the Construction Industry's Uropatrulje. Insider meets one of their investigators, who risks his own safety to help the police and other agencies uncover large criminal networks in the construction industry.

Bilsvindel 3
Over the course of several seasons, Insider has dug deep into the criminal car industry, but we have yet to meet the big masterminds. In this episode, a fraudster from the past puts us in touch with his former partners who allegedly run an illegal car workshop, where stolen cars are dismantled. Reporter Stein Morten Lier embarks on a trip that ends with him being tricked into rolling around, but in the end gets to see with his own eyes how the criminal workshops operate.
