Иосиф Бродский. Возвращение (2010)
In January 1993, Joseph Brodsky appeared on Russian television for the first and last time. This happened in the city he loved so much: "If reincarnation exists, I would like to live my next life in Venice – to be a cat there, or anything else, but definitely in Venice." It was in this city that the poet was buried, on the Island of the Dead, in the San Michele cemetery, next to Stravinsky and Diaghilev, who, like him, were exiles who brought glory to Russia throughout the world. The cycle does not contain any voice‑over text. This is Brodsky's monologue, his reflections in the first person, a kind of philosophical essay "about the world, the beloved homeland, and about himself." With each passing year, with each passing day, his thoughts and words acquire an ever deeper and more piercing meaning, as if time is trying to catch up with the poet. Authors: Alexey Shishov, Elena Yakovich.
