Jamie and Jimmy's Friday Night Feast - Season 8

Season 8
Episodes

Jack Dee
Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty present dishes for the weekend from their cafe on Southend Pier. Guest Jack Dee revisits his days as a chef at the Ritz and shares memories of family camping holidays in France as a child. The hosts track down the campsite Jack's family stayed at and recreate the effect of a perfect rotisserie chicken, but in a domestic oven. Jamie also serves up a pot-roast pork wrapped in cured meat with sage and garlic and a side of celeriac, spinach and compote apple and rhubarb, while Jimmy rustles up an easy way of doing spicy veggie samosas.

Amir Khan
Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty are joined by two-time world boxing champion Amir Khan, and recreate the favourite dish of Muhammad Ali. Having tracked down Ali's personal chef, together they take time out to make the delicious rack of lamb, scalloped potatoes and collard greens that the boxing legend enjoyed every week, bringing Amir closer to his hero through food. Jamie pushes the boat out with his Malaysian-inspired sea bass cooked in a beautiful fresh banana leaf and served with jasmine rice, rainbow salad and a chilli pickle, and Jimmy serves up some quick quesadillas that will impress even at short notice.

Joe Lycett
In an episode filmed in 2019, Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty are joined by guest Joe Lycett. Jamie teaches Joe to make a traditional wild boar and pappardelle ragu from the restaurant he spent time in while holidaying in Italy, and the comedian wears an authentic Italian housecoat to complete the look. Jamie also celebrates the weekend with a scrumptious veggie tikka masala, with beautiful marinated and grilled veggies served with paneer cheese and amazing little pancakes to mop up the classic sauce. Jimmy has a smoking hot tip for oven-cooked barbecue ribs that looks impressive, but is actually super simple to do.

Susan Sarandon & Sicilian Chicken Thighs
In this episode, filmed in 2019, Hollywood legend Susan Sarandon swaps the glamour of Hollywood for Southend Pier, as Jamie and Jimmy make Sicilian-inspired chicken thighs wrapped in smoky pancetta, inspired by the actress' Italian roots. Plus, the hosts are bubbling over with excitement as they get to make their very own English sparkling wine, and must leave the Capri behind when they sample the wares a little too enthusiastically.
