Episode 1

In the first episode of this exciting two-parter, Jane heads for Nashville's famous Honky Tonk Highway. With wall-to-wall bars and bands playing around the clock, it's a great introduction to music city. A few blocks away, Jane visits one of Nashville's top attractions, the iconic Ryman Auditorium, known as the mother church of country music. Nashville also has a burgeoning food scene and Jane opts for a place loved by the locals to try traditional southern meat and three veg.

Nearby, at Centennial Park, Jane is left speechless by Nashville's very own Parthenon - the world's only full-size replica, celebrating the city's nickname as the Athens of the South. But night-time is when Nashville comes alive, and Jane joins the crowds at Nashville Palace to try line dancing.

Back downtown, Jane visits another tourist attraction - the Country Music Walk of Fame. How many stars will she know? Nashville is also the hub of a world-renowned music industry and Jane takes us behind-the-scenes at the studio where she is recording her country album. It's a nerve-wracking time, as she steps out of her music comfort zone to embrace a genre she grew up with and loves.

Exploring Tennessee, Jane takes a trip out of town to Lynchburg, home of the Jack Daniel's Whiskey Distillery. It's a chance to learn about the history of the drink she loves, take in the peaceful countryside and once again enjoy that good ole southern hospitality.

So far, Nashville has been everything and more. Is this northern lass becoming a southern country gal?

Episode 2

Jane McDonald continues her journey of discovery in Nashville, seeking inspiration for her country album and finding out why music city is one of the top holiday destinations in the US.

To make the most of the city's nightlife, Jane visits the famous Bluebird Café for open mic night. This is where a teenage Taylor Swift was spotted. Jane might be lucky enough to see a country star of the future.

Next, Jane detours from the hustle and bustle of downtown and travels to Nashville's exclusive suburb of Belle Meade, home of the rich and famous, but also the location of the historic Belle Meade mansion. Jane hears stories of Nashville's past as well as visiting the estate's winery.

The American South is famous for its fried chicken, but in Nashville they like it spicy, so Jane takes the challenge - can she handle Nashville's hot chicken?

But for country music fans, Nashville doesn't get much bigger than the Grand Ole Opry, the world famous radio show. Jane takes a backstage tour of the special venue, which ends with a surprise appearance on stage in the live show! Who'd have thought it? Nashville is inspiring Jane at every turn and so she pays another visit to the studio to check in on her new album and make sure it is on track. Will it be everything that she hoped?

No holiday is complete without shopping for souvenirs and, in Nashville, it's the law to shop for cowboy boots and a hat. So, before she heads home, Jane gets kitted out - country style! With her rhinestone outfit complete, this cowgirl makes one last trip to the Honky Tonks on Broadway; now all she needs is a good ole country song to celebrate the end of a yee-haw trip to Nashville!
