Season 1
In the 1980s, a simple-minded fool named Hideaki meets comedy legend Sanma, changes his name to Jimmy and becomes a comedic superstar.

A young man named Hideaki Onishi joins the fabled comedy talent agency Yoshimoto Kogyo, but he's terrified and completely in over his head.

Episode 2
After floundering onstage, Hideaki is distraught when he sees Sanma arguing with his boss. He can't help but feel responsible.

Episode 3
Hideaki immediately regrets his capricious decision to quit and go to Tokyo. He begs Sanma to take him on as a disciple, to no avail.

Episode 4
A cunning fortuneteller takes advantage of Hideaki's simple nature, and there are serious consequences.

Episode 5
Before Jimmy can bask in the glory of his brand-new stage name, tragedy appears to strike. Sanma has a fateful meeting with a new colleague.

Episode 6
After a crisis of confidence, Jimmy is rushed to the hospital. The world starts to fall in love with him, but he's still relying heavily on Sanma.

Episode 7
Jimmy's manager has had enough and is ready to quit if she doesn't get fired first. But Jimmy has one special little fan.

Episode 8
Jimmy's art fetches a surprising price and brings him a lot of work, forcing him to reconsider his priorities.

Episode 9
Jimmy's art exhibit is ruined. After pouring his heart into it, he feels defeated. But he learns he's not the failure he thought he was.
