Violeta is a beautiful woman who takes care of her family, especially her father, who suffers from a serious illness. José María is Toribio's son, the owner of a hardware store, and he works hard to give his family a better life.

Julio suspects that Justino bought votes to ensure Mariela won the beauty contest. Violeta and her family suffer as they watch Amado die.

Violeta promises Amado that she will help her family escape poverty. Antonia decides to pawn her jewelry to be able to pay for Amado's burial.

Violeta thanks Maximiliano for supporting her in burying her father. Maximiliano asks Violeta if she feels any interest in him.

Mariano decides to travel to the town to visit Antonia and talk business. Lía suspects that Violeta is in love with Maximiliano.

Mariano informs Father Basilio of his return. Violeta receives a note from Max asking her to meet him at the cemetery, but she does not go.

Violeta confesses to Lía that, despite everything, she is in love with Max. Antonia asks Justino for time to pay what is owed at the jewelry shop, and he abuses her. Fausta asks Renato to flirt with Cristiana, Rogelio's wife.

Claudio saves Antonia from committing suicide. Antonia confesses to Father Basilio that Justino abused her. Justino offers Antonia the mortgage papers if she agrees to be with him again, but Lía interrupts them.

Violeta tries to revive the jewelry workshop now that they have the chance to pay Justino. Max takes Violeta on a ride in the small plane, but he tries to make advances toward her. Julio hits Violeta, believing that she is seeing Max.

Candela's baby is born and she asks Jose Maria to be her godfather. During Mass, Father Basilio appears to accuse Justin of adultery and abuse.

Nicolás informs Justino that Antonia reported him and makes him believe it is just extortion. José María helps Pablo fight against those who stole his song. Justino threatens Antonia with harming Daniel so that she will withdraw the complaint.

José María decides to take care of Coralito while they find a home for her. Malena and Mariela confront Antonia and Violeta in front of the whole town, believing they were trying to deceive Justino.

Because of Antonia's depression, Violeta confesses the truth to Alejandro. Claudio beats Justino to defend Antonia's honor and her family. Justino confesses to Malena that it was Antonia who brought about his downfall, and she throws him out of her house.

Justino plays the victim and asks Malena for another chance. José María looks for Coralito's uncles to investigate them, but the girl thinks he is going to send her back to them and runs away. Justino attacks Antonia again in Lía's presence.

Justino assaults Lía, and Antonia attacks him with scissors to defend her. Claudio finds Maximiliano in bed with Mariela and advises him not to get involved with her because her father is the most powerful man in town.

Maximiliano swears to Violeta that he is in love with her and asks for a chance to be together. Pablo agrees to accompany Mariano on his trip; Fausta finds out and tries to convince Renato to go as well.

Cristina gets upset when she finds out that Renato went on a trip with his family without telling her. Rogelio begins to suspect that Cristina is cheating on him.

Mariano goes to Antonia's house to look for her, but discovers that she no longer lives where he thought. Leonora suspects that Mariano is hiding something in the town.

Malena demands that Justino stay away from Antonia, and he promises her that he will not deceive her again. José María and Pablo go to look for Lía and Violeta, but they refuse to speak to them.

Fausta continues to deceive everyone with her disability. Mariano and Leonora discover that Renato has a heart condition.

Claudio discovers that Violeta is Maximiliano's girlfriend. José María and Pablo devise a new plan to find Violeta. Antonia fears that Mariano does not want to join her business knowing that the town has invented gossip.

Mariano forgives Violeta and agrees to pay off the mortgage on Antonia's business. In addition, he begins making preparations for the company to start operating.

Basilio is upset with Mariano when he learns how he judges Antonia. José María confesses to Violeta the interest he feels for her.

Basilio gives Antonia the good news that Mariano paid off the factory's mortgage. Leonarda suspects that Mariano is interested in Antonia.

Justino attacks Antonia again, but Daniel saves her. Alejandro lets Violeta work at the clinic. Mariela gets infatuated with Max and does not accept him leaving town. Fausta makes the employees believe that she fell through the window. 

Violeta finds Max leaving Mariela's house, and he makes her believe he went to ask Justino for work. José María agrees to let Candela work at the hardware store. Max asks Violeta to be his wife and offers to go to the city with him.

Justino and Max fail to reach an agreement, and he chooses to leave Mariela. Mariano and José María's project is approved. Max manipulates Violeta into going with him to the city. Alejandro applies for a loan to help Violeta and her family.

Lía tries to make Violeta see reason so she won't leave with Max, but she decides to go anyway. Antonia asks Violeta not to leave, but Max leaves before she arrives. José María takes Coralito to enroll her in school.

Alejandro informs Antonia that she is pregnant. Violeta and Alejandro ask Antonia to consider having an abortion, but she refuses.

Justino secretly visits Antonia, but Alejandro catches him. Mariano allows José María to continue seeing Ivanna.

José María refuses to sell his land to Rogelio, and he begins to ruin his project by ordering everyone to be removed from the property.

Renato blackmails Fausta to keep her secret. Leonora prevents Violeta from speaking with Mariano, but Fausta lets him know.

The provocateurs, the police and Jose Maria clash to evict them from their lands. José María looks for Violeta to help her with her problems.

José María does not want to lose the chance to be with Violeta and asks her to be friends. Justino refuses to sell the jewelry shop to Mariano and offers that they become partners. Mariano offers Antonia and her family to go live with him in the city.

Antonia and her children decide to leave the town and go to the cemetery to say goodbye to Amado. Ivanna discovers that her brother is very ill and could die. Lía gets excited at the thought that she will live in Pablo's house.

Violeta is upset by the way she and her family were treated at Mariano's house, but she knows they have nowhere else to go.

Julio refuses to study despite the support Mariano offers him. Ivanna sees José María with Violeta and becomes jealous, fearing that he might be interested in her.

Mariela goes to look for Maximiliano and he is surprised to see her, as he thought she was still living in the town. Pablo tells Lía that he will help her study for her entrance exam. 

Candela confesses to Jose Maria that she is in love with him and asks him for an opportunity to prove her love, but he rejects her.

Basilio suspects that Justino abused Gracia. Julio tells Antonia that Mariano did not give her a good job. Fausta demands that Renato stay away from Antonia. Mariano promises Antonia that he will support her financially.

Fausta suspects that Mariano is cheating on Leonora with Antonia. The school principal helps Violeta land a job as a fashion designer. Mariano believes that Leonarda is pushing Antonia to leave her home.

Violeta demands that Antonia charge Leonarda for the work she does for her. Fausta advises Leonarda to befriend Violeta in order to get rid of her. Mariela has a car accident after learning that Maximiliano abandoned her.

Leonarda demands that Mariana throw Antonia out of the house. Maximiliano helps Mariela get released from the police station where she was being held.

Mariano demands that Leonora stop asking Antonia for favors. Mariela convinces Justino not to send her back to the village. José María is happy to learn that Violeta is falling in love with him.

Justino arrives at Mariano's house, and Antonia sees him. Leonora asks Lía to take care of Fausta and, despite Antonia's opposition, offers to pay them. Violeta finally manages to locate Max, but Mariela intercepts the message.

José María gets upset with Violeta because he can't understand that Max doesn't truly love her. Marcelo and his family experience an awkward moment when Violeta and her family come face to face with Justino.

Max tries to prove to Justino that he is the ideal man for Mariela. Rogelio arranges for José María's construction materials to be stolen. Fausta plots against Cristina and Lía with Renato's help.

Ivanna confesses to José María that Max and Mariela are a couple. Leonora and Maura pressure Antonia and her family to attend the party.

Antonia decides to show up at the party with Violeta, who gets into a physical fight with Mariela. Rogelio tries to convince Justino to invest in his project. Fausta humiliates Antonia and her family in front of all the party guests.

Rodrigo draws the attention of all the girls at the party, especially Mariela. Renato continues trying to win Lía over.

Lía and Antonia are happy to learn that Violeta is José María's girlfriend. Pablo gets into trouble again with Gandúl and the boys from the rival gang, who follow them as they leave the bar. Leonora becomes jealous of Mariano's attention toward Antonia.

Pablo is violently beaten and rushed to the hospital in an emergency, his life in danger. Julio asks Justino to give him a job.

Max keeps lying to Violeta and tells her that he still loves her, but she doesn't know how to respond. Father Basilio tells Claudio that Violeta has gone to the city. Violeta confesses to Lía that she didn't tell Max that she is dating José María.

Violeta Madrigal is a beautiful young woman who lives in a small town with her parents, Amado and Antonia, her brothers Julio and Daniel, and her sister Lía.

Julio takes his family to the apartment where they will now be living, and Violeta takes the opportunity to share the news that an important fashion house is interested in her. Ivanna tells Pablo that Antonia and her children will be leaving the house.

Ivanna tells Renato that she will take Lía to the hospital because Pablo misses her, and he tries to convince her not to do it.

Antonia tells Violeta that Alejandro proposed marriage to her, but she is not willing to marry him. Justino demands that Julio move into the apartment he will be renting as soon as possible.

Janis tries to convince Pablo to confess the truth about the men who beat him, but he refuses. Pablo asks Mariano to prevent Antonia and her children from leaving the house.

Mariano accuses José María of having stolen the company's materials. Pablo feels jealous when he sees that Renato is interested in Lía.

Maximiliano asks Violeta to spend the night with him. Renato manages to make Lía believe that he loves her. José María asks Mariano not to report him and then feels saddened when he sees Violeta spending time with Maximiliano.

José María gives his neighbors the sad news that he will not be able to build their houses. Rodrigo helps Violeta become the best fashion designer.

Justino tries to kill Antonia after learning that she was expecting his child. Violeta asks Mariano to allow her to move back into his house.

Jesusa asks José María to take her to Antonia and her family. Violeta confesses to Antonia about Justino's threats and suggests returning to live with the Lazcano family. Violeta confronts Julio about the deal he made with Justino.

Jesusa reunites with Antonia and tells her the news that Alejandro rented her house. Julio confronts Justino, telling him that he only wants to help her because he is interested in Antonia, which causes problems with Malena. Julio asks Antonia for forgiveness.

Justino plans to get rid of Alejandro, but Pantaleón refuses to harm him. Leonora agrees to let the Madrigal family return to her house.

Pablo makes it clear to Lía that he doesn't have a girlfriend and that she is the only one he's interested in, but she doesn't believe him. Pantaleón insists on not harming Alejandro, and Justino decides to run him over.

Renato takes advantage of Lía's situation and asks her to be his girlfriend. Ivanna celebrates with her friends that Rodrigo is now her boyfriend.

Lía breaks Pablo's heart by confessing that she is Renato's girlfriend. Ivanna kindly turns down Daniel's proposal to be a couple.

Justino threatens Max, warning him that he will kill him if he harms Mariela. Renato convinces Lía to carry on a relationship behind her parents' backs.

Claudio decides to leave when he sees that Rodrigo will take charge of helping Violeta. Jesusa tells Violeta that José María is living with Candela, which makes her jealous. Max invites the Madrigal family to dinner, and Justino shows up at the same restaurant.

Violeta gives herself to Max despite not wanting to. Cristiana confesses to Renato that she is pregnant. Rogelio gets upset with Cristina for not taking care of her pregnancy. Candela confesses her love to José María, and he returns the kiss.

Renato tells Fausta that Cristina is pregnant and demands that she hand over the inheritance she promised him. Leonora accuses Julio of stealing clothes from Mariano. Max makes it clear to Rodrigo that he should stay away from Violeta.

Antonia decides not to attend the meeting at Mariano's house when she sees Justino there. Rogelio celebrates the news that he will be a father, but Cristina does not show the same joy.

Leonora can't resist Julio and kisses him passionately. Rodrigo asks Violeta to travel to Spain with him so she can fulfill her dreams.

Mariela asks Maximiliano if he knows anything about Violeta. He says he doesn't and assures her that he is only interested in her. Rodrigo tells Ivanna that he only wants to be her friend; she accepts it but is very upset by the news.

Violeta falls for Maximiliano's lies about Mariela once again. Lía tells her she doesn't trust him, but the love Violeta feels won't let her see that he is not a good man. Ivanna spends the night with a stranger.

Violeta asks Rodrigo not to remove her dress from the collection and promises to have it ready on time. Justino tells Rogelio that he does not want Maximiliano to have a relationship with his daughter.

Violeta successfully presents her first fashion show. She thanks Rodrigo for making her dream of becoming a skilled dressmaker come true.

Maximiliano decides to end his relationship with Mariela. Cristina confesses to Leonora the interest she feels in her gardener.

Antonia confesses to Alejandro that she only wants him as a friend. Antonia is happy to learn that, thanks to Mariano, Lía might be able to regain her sight.

Justino bribes the judge to force Maximiliano to marry Mariela. Renato and Ivanna devise a plan to prevent Mariano from falling in love with Antonia.

Maximiliano makes Violeta believe that he went on a trip to keep her from finding out that he married Mariela. Lía believes that Maximiliano is jealous of Violeta after seeing that she is more successful.

Mariano makes it clear to Leonora that their marriage is a sham. Rogelio speaks with José María's cousin to have his father's will contested. Rodrigo suffers a sudden pain and collapses unconscious to the ground.

Mariano finds a specialist to help Lía. Violeta is devastated when she sees Max marry Mariela. José María comforts Violeta, and the two grow closer.

Violeta suffers over Max's betrayal and vows to forget him forever. Justino stops supporting Mariela financially now that she is married to Max. Violeta slaps Max when she confronts him about his betrayal.

José María officially becomes Coralito's adoptive father. Lía undergoes medical tests to determine whether she can regain her sight, but the results are negative. Renato proposes that Lía run away with him to Acapulco.

Fausta helps Renato and Lía run away to Acapulco. Rodrigo gives Violeta a dress so she can look like a true fashion designer.

Violeta gives her family the clothes she brought them as gifts. Renato tries to force Lía to be with him. Pablo tries to take Lía to the city, but she refuses, and later confesses to his parents that Renato secretly took Lía to Acapulco.

Antonia decides to support Lía in her relationship with Renato. Leonora threatens Renato with leaving him out on the street if he continues seeing Lía. Justino tells Mariano that he has decided to transfer the jewelry business shares to Antonia.

Mariano is surprised to see Pablo singing and feels proud of him. Fausta is pleased with the work Renato has done and confirms that he will be the heir to her fortune. Justino confronts Max about his relationship with Violeta.

Antonia refuses to accept the jewelry company shares, but Mariano convinces her. José María risks losing his land.

Rodrigo asks Violeta for a kiss and to agree to be his girlfriend, but she refuses. Fausta questions Leonora about her love affair with Julio.

Leonora meets with Julio to end their relationship. The doctor gives Rodrigo the terrible news that his treatment is not working as they had hoped.

Celia goes to Julio's house to look for him, but he gets upset when he sees her there. Violeta learns that Rodrigo is very ill and could die, so she agrees to be his girlfriend to make him a little happier.

Fausta takes Celia to a hotel, where she catches Julio with Leonora. Violeta confesses to José María that she agreed to be Rodrigo's girlfriend.

José María insults Violeta upon finding out that she is Rodrigo's girlfriend. Julio assures Celia that he does not love Leonora, but she refuses to forgive him and decides to return to her hometown.

Violeta demands that Rodrigo take responsibility for her and her family. José María is surprised to see that Max is still trying to interfere. Mariano confronts Justino over his past actions.

Leonora makes Mariano believe that Violeta stole Rodrigo's love from Ivanna. Celestino brings Violeta the news that Rodrigo has been hospitalized. Meanwhile, Maximiliano discovers that Mariela only married him to get him away from Violeta.

Maxi asks Mariela to go to the city with him, but she refuses. Celestino asks Violeta to sit down and talk with Rodrigo to tell him the whole truth. Renato confesses to Lía that he loves her.

Candela decides to end her relationship with Delfino so she can have a chance with José María. Celestino asks Violeta not to tell anyone that they are hospitalized. 

Fausta and Justino decide to ally to get rid of Antonia. Violeta gets ready to travel to Europe and help Celestino with his business.

Jose Maria is surprised to learn that Violeta traveled to Europe with Rodrigo. Candela devises a plan to make Jose Maria fall in love.

Leonora tries to convince Mariano that Antonia is Justino's lover, but when she discovers that he just wants to abuse her, he hits him.

Leonora makes it clear to Antonia that she will never give Mariano a divorce - especially not so he can be with her. Violeta becomes jealous when she sees José María with Candela. Antonia tells Mariano that she has decided to return to Puerta del Cielo.

Mariano asks Antonia to return with him to Puerta del Cielo, but she hesitates. Violeta confesses to José María that she still loves Maximiliano. Renato proposes to Lía, but she turns him down.

Antonia confesses to Violeta that Mariano is planning to divorce Leonora and that he is in love with her. Ivanna overdoses and Pablo takes her to the hospital, where Mariano finds out that his daughter is using drugs. Cristiana's pregnancy becomes complicated.

Mariano lets Ivanna know how important she is to him. Leonora blames Mariano for their daughter's addiction, and he decides to admit her to a rehabilitation clinic. Violeta tells Max that she is going to marry José María.

Daniel discovers Fausta walking. Violeta defends Antonia from Florencia's mistreatment. Antonia asks Mariano to stop the divorce proceedings with Leonora now that she is returning to the village. Leonora leaves on a trip to meet Julio.

Without looking for it, Daniel records how Leonora throws Fausta down the stairs. Violeta and Jose Maria swear love and he asks her to marry him.

José María receives news about the explosion in Buena Aventura. Max discovers that Rogelio is demanding more money from the Americans and looks for a way to silence him. Father Basilio agrees to marry Violeta and José María in Puerta del Cielo.

Ivanna is admitted to a rehabilitation clinic. Cristina runs away to meet with Renato. Coralito opposes Violeta marrying José María, which leads to a fight with Daniel. José María goes to ask Antonia for Violeta's hand in marriage.

A record label executive offers Pablo and his band the chance to record an album. Renato makes Antonia feel guilty by telling her how much his parents' separation hurts him. Antonia accepts Alejandro's proposal to get back together.

Alejandro and Mariano have a discussion because of Antonia, as they are both in love with her and will do whatever it takes to win her heart.

Violeta confesses to Ivanna that José María is the love of her life and invites her to their wedding. Leonela threatens Fausta with sending her to an asylum when she finds out Fausta could walk.

Lia tells Fausta that she cannot forget Pablo even though Renato is a good man to her. Ivanna tells Mariela that Maximiliano tried to prevent Violeta's wedding because he still loves her.  

Justino and Malena visit Cristina and Rogelio in the hospital to meet their baby. Pablo is determined to help Lia regain her sight and takes her to a doctor to see if she has a chance of seeing again.

Mariano decides to begin the divorce proceedings and sends a lawyer to speak with Leonora. Olvido confesses to Rogelio that he cannot be a father because he is sterile, which means that Cristina's baby belongs to another man.

Lía is filled with hope upon learning that she might soon regain her sight. Violeta is saddened to learn that José María is interested in Candela. Leonora fears that Julio will confess to everyone that he had an affair with her.

Leonora suspects that Antonia is seducing Mariano. Rogelio is enraged upon learning that Cristina's child is not his.

José María gets upset with Violeta when he finds out that Maximiliano is frequently around her. Maximiliano fears that his dirty business will be discovered. Mariano swears to Antonia that he will help her get Julio out of jail.

Rogelio is furious when he learns that he is not Fausta's universal heir. Pablo tells Antonia that Violeta has decided to undergo surgery to regain her sight. José María feels jealous when he sees Maximiliano serenading Violeta.

Violeta is sad to know that her surgery was unsuccessful. Alejandro gets everything ready to marry Antonia as soon as possible. Candela confronts Violeta to confess that José María does not love her.  

Pablo and Lía get into a relationship. Violeta gets jealous when she finds Candela at José María's house. Justino threatens Antonia with killing Alejandro if she continues with the idea of marrying him. Max tries to kiss Violeta by force. 

Justino goes to the hotel to look for Dr. Alejandro to prevent him from marrying Antonia and throws him off the balcony. Father Basilio witnesses Alejandro's death and blames Justino. Mariela looks for a way for Max to pay for her infidelity.  

Mariela and Malena find out that the police are looking for Justino because he has been accused of abuse. José María is confused by Max's schemes and confronts Violeta for having lied to him. Pantaleón hides the only witness to Alejandro's death.

Ivanna finds the video where Leonora throws Fausta down the stairs and confronts her mother about it. Family and friends attend the wake of Dr. Alejandro in Puerta del Cielo. Violeta tells José María that their marriage is not worth fighting for anymore.

The police arrest Justino and he is taken to jail. Malena confronts Justino about the abuses he has committed. Max's plan goes into motion and he tries to kill José María with gas poisoning, while Rogelio is accused of fraud.

Rogelio hears Cristina talking to Renato. Pantaleon finds the body of Father Basilio and suspects that Justino was the one who killed him.

Pantaleón blackmails Justino, threatening to reveal that he knows he killed Father Basilio. Leonora tries to strangle Fausta. Malena and Mariela realize that Max has robbed them. Mariano tells Antonia that he knows she loves him and kisses her.

Mariela asks Justino for help in finding Max and getting their money back. Fausta dies because of Leonora. Max flees the country and goes to New York. Cristina confesses to Renato that she loves him, but Rogelio overhears them and shoots him.  

Rodrigo tells José María that he broke up with her because he has always been in love with him. Sara turns Rogelio over to the police. Renato confesses to Mariano that he is having an affair with Cristina. Ivanna overhears that Julio and Leonora were lovers.

The judge denies Justino parole after he is accused in the deaths of Alejandro and Basilio. Malena and Mariela do nothing to stop Justino from being transferred to prison.

Mariano informs Antonia and her family that Justino has been transferred to prison. Violeta tells Antonia that Maximiliano asked her to run away with him using the money he stole.  

Renato reads the letter that Fausta left for the whole family and they discover that she had no money. Mariano discovers that Leonora cheated on him with Julio. 

Julio apologizes to Mariano for having a relationship with Leonora. José María goes looking for Violeta at Mariano's house but discovers that she and her family have returned to town. Justino stabs Rogelio during a fight in jail.

José María and Violeta officially get engaged. Mariano and Antonia reaffirm their love and resolve to finally be together. Justino faces consequences for his crimes as tensions rise in Puerta del Cielo. 

Renato gives Lia Fausta's jewels. The police finally manage to arrest Maximiliano to make him pay for all the crimes he committed.
