The Man Who Became a Kaiju
Japan is threatened by monsters on a daily basis. Kafka Hibino, who was aiming to join the "Japan Defense Corps" to defeat monsters, gave up his dream and worked in a cleaning business specializing in monsters. In the midst of his days of feeling anxious about his childhood friend Mina Ashira, who is active as the captain of the 3rd unit of the Defense Corps, and the promise to fight monsters together, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa, a junior who aspires to be a member of the Defense Forces.

The Kaiju Who Defeats Kaiju
Kafka, who was parasitized by a mysterious small monster and transformed into a monster himself, escaped from the hospital with Reno, fearing that he would be defeated by the defense forces. At that time, he discovers a father and son being attacked by a monster. Kafka, who confronts the monster without regard for danger, wields his fists with all his might.

Revenge Match
Kafka arrives for one last shot at the Defense Force entry exam... but can he pass while keeping his Kaiju powers a secret?

Fortitude 9.8
Kafka, who was shown the difference in ability early in the exam, stood up again with the help of Leno, but due to Kikor's performance, the final examination ended in the blink of an eye. The examinees were only overwhelmed by Kikor's tremendous combat power. Meanwhile, a mysterious monster suddenly appears in the exam hall. Unforeseen circumstances plunge the venue into chaos.

Joining Up!
Kafka is now a member of the Defense Force, if not a full-fledged one. But Hoshina tells him he has three months to prove himself before he's fired...

Sagamihara Neutralization Operation At Daybreak
A monster has broken out in Sagamihara! The rookies are tasked with their first mission to kill the remaining beasts in the rear of the unit. Kafka, who was sentenced to be fired if he did not show success within three months, could not hide his excitement at his dream job. Leno is inspired by Kafka and is overwhelmed. And finally the operation began!

Kaiju No. 9
A mysterious humanoid monster that suddenly appeared mercilessly attacks Reno and Iharu. While protecting the mortally wounded Iharu, Reno bravely confronts him. Relying on information from Kikoru, who had met the same monster during the selection exam, Reno barely manages to bite him, but is gradually cornered.

Welcome to the Defense Force
In order to save Reno and the others from a mysterious humanoid monster, Kafka transforms into Kaiju No. 8. Just when he was able to defeat the humanoid monster, he decided to face Hoshina, who was chasing Kaiju No. 8! While struggling against Hoshina's onslaught, Kafka hesitates to fight back, fearing that he will fight back and hurt him. Kafka narrowly escapes, but Hoshina feels uncomfortable with the battle.

Attack on Tachikawa Base
As the search for "Kaiju No. 9" disguised as a human continues, a swarm of monsters suddenly attacks the Tachikawa base, where Mina is absent! The leader of the pterosaur monsters that never swarmed was a new "giant monster" who understood human language and had intelligence. As if enjoying the battle, the monster sets its sights on the strongest member = Hoshina on the spot.

Secret Revealed
While the rookie members demonstrate the results of their training and manage to suppress the pterosaur monsters, the attack of the giant "Kaiju No. 10" intensifies even more! Hoshina continues to attack steadily in response to changes in the enemy, but finally reaches its limit. At that moment, what came to Hoshina's mind were Mina's words, who recognized her swordsmanship and entrusted her with her back.

Kaiju No. 8 Captured
Kafka, who was finally revealed to be Kaiju No. 8 and detained, was transferred to the headquarters facility by order of Isao Shinomiya, the commander of the Japan Defense Forces. Kafka's dream of becoming a defender is crushed, and Kafka is tormented by the guilt of betraying his friends. In the midst of the transport mission, which proceeds solemnly in a tense atmosphere, Mina, who is alone with Kafka, breaks the silence.

Kafka Hibino
While the members of Unit 3 are scrambling to save Kafka's life, a deadly battle between Kaiju No. 8 and Isao continues at the Ariake Rinkai base. Gong, who can freely manipulate the power of the giant monster, fully demonstrates his ability, which was once touted as the strongest in the history of the Defense Corps, but the monster No. 8, which has lost control of Kafka and has gone out of control, fights back with an attack that does not care about physical damage. A ruthless attack hunts down Gong.
