Nazar drags Alyonka's great-granddaughter Maria into the well, and Styopa, realizing that everything happened because of him, rushes into the past to save her. In the 17th century, he learns that Susanin's feat and Monomakh's Hat, without which they cannot crown the tsar, have disappeared, and at this time Churila, Pop and Amira accidentally end up in Moscow in 2023.

Marina Mnishek decides to return to the throne, using a school textbook that Maria must read to help her kill Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov. On the Arbat, Lena meets Churila, Pop and Amira, who take on the role of animators and have arguments with the locals. The situation gets out of control and the heroes end up in the police station.

Stepan and the Cossacks continue to save the tsar, facing new obstacles during the Time of Troubles, while Mnishek and Nazar step up their game to change history. In the future, Churila, Pop and Amira face a new reality and confuse the police more and more.

The heroes save Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich, who initially does not believe them, but eventually shows interest in Alyonka, which makes Styopa jealous. Nazar helps Maria escape, and she plays a scene to leave with Ursula, while Mnishek plans the next steps with the help of a potion.

The heroes arrive in the village, where Mikhail Fedorovich, disguised as a peasant, causes laughter and indignation. A party is held in the village, but everything ends in disaster because of the fireworks. Cossacks and Lena are faced with the need to earn money for a trip to Rostov, meeting thrash streamer Timur, who offers them to participate in the stream in exchange for money.

Styopa defends Mikhail Fedorovich in court, proving his innocence in the burning of the village, and finds evidence that the Tatars are to blame. Meanwhile, the Cossacks and Lena agree to work for Timur, advertising the shopping center, but after filming they are ambushed by the police, and bandits from the Tavern are waiting for them in the parking lot.

Stepan and Maria are searching for the missing Mikhail Fedorovich, using a "Lie Detector" and forcing the Cossacks to confess various sins. Lena and the Cossacks hide in her museum, where they conduct an excursion and earn money. However, a chase begins for them, and they escape, having received help from museum staff.

Maria, posing as Alyonka, seduces Mikhail Fedorovich in order to lure him out for an assassination attempt, Styopa exposes her, and everything ends in a fight with the real Alyonka. Styopa locks the tsar in the bathhouse to save him, but the bathhouse suddenly catches fire. Amira gets lost in the Moscow metro, but after the heroes find her, they miss the train. Left without money, they decide to pawn the gold.

Mikhail Fedorovich, accusing Styopa of cowardice, suggests solving the case with a duel in the style of "Pop MMA". In a scuffle, Nazar kidnaps Alyonka, and Maria turns out to be useless. Cossacks and Elena discover how profitable it is to sell ancient coins, but attract the attention of bandits.

Styopa discusses with the Healer his doubts about returning to the past, and soon Mikhail Fyodorovich reveals his identity to the royal archers. On the train, the Cossacks encounter comical situations, including chasing gypsies who stole Monomakh's hat, and eventually they have to leave the train.

Maria, Ivan and Nikita try to get the truth out of the captive Nazar by using various tortures, and the Witch Doctor puts him into a trance, as a result of which Nazar reveals the plans of the Mnishek to destroy the royal family. At this time, the Cossacks accidentally end up at a Cossack campsite for a themed holiday, which unexpectedly turns into a real battle with the Tatars.

Styopa and the Cossacks in Kolomna encounter Evdokia, who reveals Mnishek's plans, while Nazar and the blind Cossack escape from the village. Churila, Amira and the Priest avoid the police, jump with parachutes, get to the festivities, and the Priest, having become the leader of the sect, along with the rest is rounded up.

Styopa and the Cossacks try to make it to Mikhail Fedorovich's wedding in Moscow, encountering Nazar and his men, who destroy the bridge, but they find a way to swim across the river and reach the capital. In Moscow, they save the tsar in time, Mnishek tries to use magic for his own wedding.
