The series opens one month in, where the list of jobs is mounting and stress levels are rising. Before investing in their own livestock, Kelvin and his wife Liz get some hands-on experience with a helpful neighbour's flock of sheep, but the harsh realities of animal husbandry soon hit home.

Before Gilly got here we were doing alright, weren't we?
Kelvin Fletcher and Liz buy their first livestock - a flock of rare breed sheep. They try to shear them so they can make a quick return on the investment, but nothing goes to plan. The freshly shorn fleeces are contaminated with farmyard muck and, with a wool buyer visiting imminently, they face an uphill struggle to get them ready for sale.

Episode 3
Pigs are next on the shopping list for Kelvin's growing farm, but while he's away pursuing his other passion of motor racing, it's wife Liz who must bring home the bacon.

Episode 4
The Fletchers enter three sheep into the Ashbourne Show. Training is a disaster, with Daniel the ram lamb preferring to play dead, and reputations are on the line.

Episode 5
The Fletchers face the realities of farming as Kelvin takes one of his lambs to the slaughter. An eye-opening visit to a local alpaca farm inspires Kelvin's next big idea.

Episode 6
Since moving to the farm, the Fletchers' social life has suffered. To get to know the neighbours better, Kelvin and Liz decide to throw a farm-warming party.

The Institute
