Report on child slavery on the cocoa plantations in Ivory Coast. It is investigated whether the claims are true about the use of child slaves imported from neighboring countries on large cocoa plantations, who are ruthlessly abused by the plantation owners. It is confirmed from various sides that this is indeed the case and slavery is confirmed by statements from escaped child slaves. Slavery is a serious crime in the Netherlands and purchasing products made from slaves is tantamount to fencing under Dutch law. By buying chocolate, says Teun van de Keuken, he is guilty of a criminal offense. For that reason, he wants to report himself to the judicial authorities in order to expose the disinterest of consumers and the cocoa industry.

Research shows that at least three percent of the chocolate produced contains cocoa contaminated by slavery.
