Ryuko Matoi, searching for her father's killer, transfers to Honnōji Academy - a school ruled by powerful uniforms - after a confrontation leads her to a living sailor uniform with extraordinary powers. 

Weakened from her first battle, Ryuko collapses and is rescued. When she returns to Honnōji Academy, she faces off against the Girls' Tennis Club captain to repay her debt. 

Ryuko seeks answers from her teacher about the source of her uniform's power. Meanwhile, elite student Satsuki Kiryuin returns to claim her own formidable outfit. 

Sirens signal "No-Late Day" at Honnōji Academy. With her uniform in the wash, Ryuko must brave traps by the Discipline Committee to reach class on time. 

A mysterious fighter arrives at the academy, showcasing incredible strength and soon turns his sights toward Ryuko.

Overwhelmed by recent revelations, Ryuko questions her teacher yet again, while an elite student challenges her to a duel.
