The local watch group known as Knights of the City operates out of a church basement, led by Tony Maldonado. He upholds strict discipline, including a ban on killing. However, a member named John violates this rule while pursuing a rapist, resulting in a deadly confrontation. Witnessed by fellow member Calvin, who refuses to deceive, tensions rise within the group leading to conflict and breaches of their code. Disheartened, Calvin opts to depart the organization.
