La Favorita 1922 - Season 1

Seville, 1922. Marquise Elena de Valmonte spends hours in the stoves next to the service turning her energy into her great passion, cooking, while feeling trapped in an unhappy marriage to Adolfo, her authoritarian husband. One night, after offering one of their famous dinners, Elena and Cecilia, their faithful maiden, are involved in an unfortunate incident that will change their lives forever.

Elena agrees to partner with Julio to manage La Favorita restaurant. To attract customers, Julio comes up with convincing the charismatic and millionaire Covadonga of Penalba to celebrate her birthday at the restaurant. In addition, the attraction between Elena and Julio is becoming increasingly evident until Lola appears in the restaurant and Elena discovers that Julio is married.

Elena stands up to Don Benito in relation to the restaurant's debts, and the mobster agrees to give him some more time to pay. Julio has got a magazine to make a report about the restaurant to attract customers, but Elena doesn't want to be photographed so as not to compromise her true identity.

After Pelayo's disappearance, Elena and Cecilia investigate the steps taken by the thug and follow her lead to some neighborhood billiards, where they will have to earn the trust of bad-living men to get information. The magazine's report has not had the expected repercussion, and Elena is increasingly guilty of her feelings for Julio after meeting Lola.

Once Pelayo's body is discovered, Elena has no choice but to confess the whole truth and her past to Julio, without imagining how he'll react to such incredible and unexpected information. Together, they hatch a plan to get rid of the body without raising suspicion.

Covadonga arrives at the restaurant to offer Elena and Julio a job opportunity: cook for the wedding of a friend's son, although it is celebrated outside Madrid and will have to travel together. Lourdes, with the stress and responsibility of running the restaurant without Elena, suffers another attack, and is preparing to confess to her companions her illness.

The open fronts multiply and Elena and Julio begin to stagger in their attempt to keep the restaurant afloat. The unexpected appearance of Caesar, father of Elena's late husband, adds even more tension.

To his surprise, the aristocrat does not arrive in a spirit of revenge, but with the intention of clarifying what really happened to his son.
