Virginia works as a governess in Carlos Alberto Junquera's home just to be close to him, but her dream of becoming part of the family is interrupted when Anabella enters their lives.

Rodrigo confesses to Virginia that his family is in ruins. He asks Virginia to marry him so that, when he dies, she will take care of his children.

Alirio is upset when he learns that Carlos Alberto plans to ask for Anabella's hand in marriage. Rodrigo prepares a special dinner to announce to his children that Virginia will be in charge of running the household.

Rodrigo and Virginia get married in secret. Danilo carries out his plans to win Virginia over. He offers her a job working for him.

Virginia receives a call from a stranger informing her that Rodrigo has died in New York. Danilo takes advantage of Rodrigo's death to propose marriage to Virginia.

Carlos Alberto makes all the arrangements to hold Rodrigo's funeral. Virginia suffers as she sees that Carlos Alberto continues with his plans to marry Anabella.

Carlos Alberto and his siblings are stunned to learn that Virginia is now their stepmother. Humberto postpones his wedding to Raquel when he finds out that Rodrigo left him nothing in his will.

Maximiliana demands that Anabella end her relationship with Carlos Alberto. Carlos Alberto decides to leave his home to avoid any involvement with Virginia. Raquel begins the legal proceedings to have Virginia excluded from Rodrigo's will.

Sagrario confesses to Virginia that Junior is her son. Danilo is upset when he finds out that Virginia married Rodrigo. Aldo suspects that Virginia only seduced Rodrigo in order to take all his money.

Danilo confesses to Virginia that he is in love with her and asks her to marry him. Raquel gives Junior a power of attorney to contest Rodrigo's will, and they try to convince Carlos Alberto to sign it.

Raquel accuses Virginia of stealing one of the paintings and demands that she return their belongings. Renata argues with Raquel, believing she is going after her husband. Carlos Alberto tries to make Virginia remember what they once felt for each other.

Violeta loses the use of her legs. Father Chema warns Carlos Alberto that Virginia is in danger by Danilo's side.

Rodrigo reappears after faking his death. Maximiliana forbids Danilo from marrying Virginia. Violeta's health condition worsens.

Anabella makes Danilo believe that Virginia was always Rodrigo's lover and that Memito is his son. Danilo brings a serenade to Virginia, provoking Carlos Alberto's jealousy. Violeta tries to make Virginia's life miserable by using her disability.

The judge tells Raquel and Junior that they cannot appeal Rodrigo's will. Virginia does not fall for Violeta's blackmail and continues to believe that her illness is not real. Raquel steals a ring from the safe to help Junior.

Elena runs into Rodrigo and tells Maximiliana about it. Virginia confronts Violeta for mistreating Memito. Violeta catches Virginia with a photograph of Carlos Alberto and forces her to tear it up.

Maximiliana is furious when she finds out that Virginia will be working with Danilo and tries to fire her from the company, but he defends her.

Junior is willing to marry Tania to get money and regain the lifestyle he wants. Vanessa plans to win Santiago over, even knowing that he might be married.

Carlos Alberto asks Virginia if she knows who her real mother is. Maximiliana reproaches Anabella for telling Carlos Alberto that he could be Elena's son. Maximiliana tells Maricruz that she is going to send her to a convent.

Maximiliana tells Laura that she cannot allow her daughter to marry Junior because the Junquera family is ruined. Vanessa plans to travel to the city to win Carlos Alberto over.

Carlos Alberto finds out that Rodrigo stole Virginia's inheritance from her. Víctor confesses to Raquel that his family is bankrupt.

Maricruz runs away from home and asks Aldo to run away with her. Vanessa arrives at Virginia's house with the plan of winning Carlos Alberto over.

Raquel reconciles with Humberto after learning that he is bankrupt. Maximiliana threatens Maricruz with sending Aldo to jail if she does not agree to go to a convent. Sagrario confesses to Víctor that Junior is his son.

Johnny tells Violeta that he is leaving the country. Sagrario asks Víctor not to tell Junior that they are his parents. Anabella asks Virginia to be her maid of honor. Víctor tells Junior that he will not allow him to marry his daughter.

Junior accuses Sagrario of being a traitor. Víctor confesses to Tania that Junior is his son and that is why she cannot marry him.

Carlos Alberto tells Virginia that Juvencio said Alirio stole the company from Rodrigo. Raquel sets a trap for Virginia so that Danilo will think she is being unfaithful. Danilo reproaches Virginia for Humberto trying to win her over.

Danilo apologizes to Virginia for having doubted her. Lupita finds out that Junior had a girlfriend and was going to marry her.

Violeta falls down the stairs and is left unconscious on the floor. Alirio proposes that Carlos Alberto manage the Veracruz factory to prevent him from marrying Anabella. Father Chema runs into Rodrigo and is shocked to see that he is alive.

Sagrario faints when she sees Rodrigo back home. Santiago gives Vanessa beautiful jewelry to win her over. Virginia runs into Rodrigo after all the time she believed he was dead.

Rodrigo confesses to Virginia that he stole the inheritance her father left her. Virginia decides to leave the house, but Sagrario convinces her to stay. Raquel confesses to Maximiliana that she is in love with Danilo.

Raquel is determined to find Carlos Alberto's letter so she can show it to Danilo and drive him away from Virginia. Elena tells Maximiliana that Rodrigo is alive, but she doesn't believe her.

Carlos Alberto tells Virginia that his relationship with Vanessa has improved and that they are now friends. Maximiliana and Alirio are determined to do whatever it takes to achieve their goal.

Anabella is taken to the hospital in critical condition due to the terrible accident she suffered with Carlos Alberto. Vanessa continues using Santiago to get money and buy everything she wants.

Violeta tells Carlos Alberto that Virginia has a lover, not knowing that the man who was in her room is actually Rodrigo.

Virginia tells Danilo that she will leave the factory because her father fired her. Maricruz tells Danilo that she knows many things about Maximiliana, and that's why she was sent to a convent—to keep her away from everyone.

Virginia refuses to admit that the man who was in her room was Rodrigo. Carlos Alberto plans to follow Virginia to find out who her lover is.

Raquel is furious when she discovers that Sagrario burned Carlos Alberto's letter, since she won't be able to give it to Danilo. Carlos Alberto is determined to marry Anabella despite being in love with Virginia.

Lupita confesses to Sagrario that she is in love with Junior. Carlos Alberto discovers that Rodrigo is alive.

Carlos Alberto is shocked to learn that Rodrigo is alive. Rodrigo confesses to Carlos Alberto why he pretended to be dead. Anabella comes up with a plan to make Carlos Alberto marry her.

Carlos Alberto promises Anabella that he will marry her. Rodrigo asks Virginia to have a child with him. Anabella suffers when she sees that her face is completely disfigured.

Anabella rips up her wedding dress after discovering that Carlos Daniel is still in love with Virginia. Raquel becomes jealous when she learns that Danilo is trying to win Virginia over. Danilo is upset because Virginia is in a relationship with Rodrigo.

Maximiliana fears losing all her money now that Rodrigo is alive. Carlos Alberto asks Virginia to accept Rodrigo's love and forget about him.

Sagrario finds Rodrigo dead in his office. Junior believes that Rodrigo took his own life after learning that Virginia didn't love him. The police discover that Rodrigo was murdered. Virginia suspects that Danilo is one of those involved in Rodrigo's murder.

Raquel blames Virginia for Rodrigo's death. Carlos Alberto comes up with a plan to uncover Rodrigo's real killer. Rodrigo's family says their final goodbye to him at his funeral.

Danilo accuses Carlos Alberto of having killed Rodrigo. Memito is saddened to learn that Rodrigo will never return to his side. Carlos Alberto is arrested by the police as the main suspect in Rogelio's death.

Anabella prepares everything for her facial surgery. Virginia hands over to the police the weapon that was used to kill Rodrigo. Danilo tries to convince Virginia that Carlos Alberto is responsible for Rodrigo's death.

The inspector insists that Carlos Alberto is Rodrigo's killer. Santiago promises Vanessa that he will divorce his wife so he can be with her.

Danilo makes Virginia believe that Carlos Alberto is a murderer. Carlos Alberto asks Anabella to help him get out of jail. Virginia agrees to marry Danilo.

Lupita tells Junior that she is pregnant, but he refuses to marry her. Virginia tells Carlos Alberto that he cannot return home because his siblings will not accept him there.

Raquel tells Sagrario that she will soon be thrown out of the house, since they know she has always supported Virginia. Danilo tries to force Virginia to marry him as soon as possible. Carlos Alberto looks for a way to prove his innocence.

Maricruz tells Maximiliana that she will not return to the convent and that she is determined to find her own path. Carlos Alberto continues trying to clear his name and prove that Rodrigo is still alive. Danilo demands that Virginia agree to marry him or he will accuse her of being an accomplice in Rodrigo's death.

Carlos Alberto discovers that Lupita is expecting Junior's child, but Junior does not plan to take responsibility for it. Danilo makes Violeta believe that he will do whatever it takes to help her walk again, but it is all a terrible lie.

Elena tries to kill Virginia with a knife, but Virginia confesses that she is her daughter. Virginia is determined to find out whether Elena is truly her mother. Danilo pressures Virginia to marry him as soon as possible.

Víctor asks Sagrario to tell Junior that he is his father. Danilo tells Virginia that he wants to have a child with her, even though she knows she doesn't love him and doesn't want to be intimate with him.

Carlos Alberto decides to leave his house and confesses to Violeta and Raquel that Virginia married Danilo to protect them.

Virginia tells Danilo that if he doesn't give her shares in the company, she will leave him.

Maximiliana is furious when she finds out that Danilo gave Virginia company shares and a new position to work there. Anabella confronts Virginia for trying to win Carlos Alberto over.

Danilo tries to convince Aracely not to tell anyone that they are married. Aracely confesses to Virginia that Danilo married her in the past. Virginia confronts Danilo and tells him that she knows he is married to Aracely.

Violeta is thrilled because she will be able to walk again. Virginia is happy after learning that she will be able to divorce Danilo. Carlos Alberto discovers the truth about Danilo's marriage.

Anabella tells Virginia that she is pregnant to keep her from getting back together with Carlos Alberto. Carlos Alberto is injured after a fight at the cantina. Zayda asks Danilo for help so Celestino can flee after having injured Carlos Alberto.

Violeta discovers that Aracely and Danilo are married. Violeta and Raquel confess to Carlos Alberto that Danilo is a bigamist. Anabella confesses to Carlos Alberto that she is pregnant.

Carlos Alberto confesses to Juvencio the truth about Danilo and Aracely. Aracely tells Federico that she is married to Danilo. Virginia tells Carlos Alberto that her marriage will be annulled very soon.

Violeta cries after finding out that Johnny married another woman. Anabella asks Virginia not to interfere in her marriage to Carlos Alberto. Virginia tells Carlos Alberto that they cannot be together because of the baby Anabella is expecting.

Carlos Alberto tells Maximiliana that he will marry Anabella because she is pregnant. Virginia manages to annul her marriage to Danilo and asks him to leave her house. Maricruz confesses to Virginia and Carlos Alberto that Anabella is not pregnant.

Virginia and Carlos Alberto are thrilled to learn that Anabella's pregnancy is a lie. Violeta confesses to Virginia that Johnny got married. Danilo plans to murder Aracely with Celestino's help.

Danilo kills Celestino while trying to save Aracely. Anabella reproaches Maricruz for having told Carlos Alberto that she wasn't pregnant. Danilo is arrested for Celestino's murder.

The factory catches fire and Memito tries to escape. Virginia attempts to rescue Memito from the blaze, but suffers serious consequences. The doctor tells Carlos Alberto that Virginia has a severe eye injury.

Carlos Alberto tries to comfort Virginia, who senses that she may die. The lawyer manages to secure Danilo's release on bail. The doctor tells Carlos Alberto that Virginia could go blind, but he keeps the full truth from her.

Anabella confesses to Virginia that she could go blind. Vanessa takes etiquette classes. Carlos Alberto asks Virginia to let him stay by her side despite everything.

Carlos Alberto suffers because Virginia rejects him due to her blindness and decides to move away from Mexico. Raquel decides to take charge of the household in Virginia's place. Danilo asks Maximiliana for help in getting rid of Aracely.

Anabella asks Carlos Alberto not to leave. Memito becomes sad because Virginia is blind and plans to leave the house. Maximiliana accuses Aracely of stealing her jewelry. Junior leaves the house despite Sagrario's pleas.

Anabella threatens Carlos Alberto with suicide. Alirio and Zayda plan to flee from the police before being arrested. Danilo and Aracely spend the night together. Virginia decides to leave the Junquera house so she won't be a burden to them anymore.

The Junquera family finds out that Virginia and Sagrario have left the house. Juvencio stops Zayda from escaping and hands her over to the police. Maximiliana proposes that Carlos Alberto form a partnership with her so she won't lose her fortune.

Alirio discovers that Maximiliana was willing to turn him over to the police. Danilo finds Virginia and asks her for another chance to be with her. Carlos Alberto accepts Maximiliana's deal to recover part of his fortune.

Anabella makes Carlos Alberto believe that Danilo was the one who hid Virginia. Aldo lies to Maricruz by telling her that he has a girlfriend. Virginia adopts a dog to be her companion. Carlos Alberto visits Virginia to reproach her for her actions.

Carlos Alberto confronts Danilo and asks him to stay away from Virginia. Johnny looks for Violeta to make amends for the mistakes he made with her in the past. Danilo makes Carlos Alberto believe that Virginia does not love him.

Carlos Alberto suspects that Virginia is cheating on him with Danilo. Virginia is shocked to learn that Rodrigo was not her real father. Johnny asks Violeta for a new chance to win her love.

Santiago tells Vanessa that he will soon ask his wife for a divorce so he can be with her. Dr. Palafox informs Carlos Daniel that Virginia has a brain tumor.

Virginia receives the news that she is pregnant. She confirms to Carlos Alberto that the baby she is expecting is his. Virginia's labor becomes complicated due to the tumor in her brain.

Carlos Alberto receives the news that Virginia has died during childbirth. Vanessa becomes a refined woman and, because of that, plans to move to the city to reunite with Virginia.

Vanessa receives the news that Virginia is dead. Father Chema advises Aracely to stay away from Danilo and his family. Anabella comes up with a plan to win Carlos Alberto back.

Danilo begins to develop a strong interest in Vanessa. Carlos Alberto confesses to Junior that Sagrario is his real mother.

Vanessa demands that Carlos Alberto hand over Virginia's daughter to her. Danilo carries out his plans to win Vanessa over. Anabella asks Carlos Alberto to marry her.

Carlos Alberto is upset when he learns that Sagrario has given his daughter to a new family. Maximiliana refuses to accept that Danilo wants to have a relationship with Vanessa.

Carlos Alberto tells Anabella that he does not love her, and she shoots him. Víctor confesses to Junior that he is his real father. Vanessa confronts Danilo about all his lies.

Maximiliana finds out that Virginia is supposedly alive. Carlos Alberto tells Danilo that he will not blame Anabella for the attempted murder. Carlos Alberto tells Vanessa that he is falling in love with another woman.

Vanessa slaps Anabella after confronting her about the attack on Carlos Alberto. Junior asks Sagrario for forgiveness for having rejected her as his mother. Carlos Alberto confesses to Vanessa that he is in love with her.

Carlos Alberto believes he is going crazy because of Virginia. Anabella asks Esteban for help to have Juan Carlos committed to a psychiatric clinic. Elena tells Vanessa that she knows Virginia died and that she is her daughter as well.

Junior asks Lupita for forgiveness after meeting his son. Johnny asks Violeta to go with him to his country. Vanessa confronts Maximiliana and tells her that she will not allow her to take Elena to her house.

Vanessa finds out that Elena has escaped from the psychiatric clinic. Esteban tells Raquel that Carlos Alberto is in very poor mental condition. Aracely tells Sagrario that she believes Vanessa is pretending to be Virginia.

Junior asks Lupita to marry him. Carlos Alberto reproaches Aracely for believing that Vanessa is pretending to be Virginia. Maximiliana tries to convince Elena to go live at her house.

Danilo asks Vanessa to move in with him at his house. Carlos Alberto begins to hallucinate and think that he is going crazy. Maximiliana manages to convince Elena to go live with her.

Raquel pressures Carlos Alberto to sign his resignation from the silver shop, considering him mentally unfit. Vanessa confesses to Sagrario that she plans to take revenge for all the harm Carlos Alberto caused Virginia—and he overhears her.

Carlos Alberto asks Anabella to help him regain his peace of mind, and she pretends to deceive him. Vanessa asks Carlos Alberto to give her a chance to love him, but he rejects her.

Carlos Alberto asks Vanessa to pretend to be Virginia in order to make his siblings understand that he is not going crazy.

Memito tells Violeta that Virginia is alive and living in the attic. He convinces her to go look for her, and they mysteriously end up locked inside.

Vanessa is determined to earn everyone's trust, even though Raquel threw her out of the house. Junior confesses to his siblings that Sagrario is his real mother.

Carlos Alberto reproaches Esteban for not telling him that he was the man who broke Vanessa's heart. Esteban admits that he treated her badly, but says he is willing to marry her to make up for his mistake.

Junior asks Lupita to be his wife so they can raise their son together. Esteban discovers that Maximiliana mistreats Elena and demands that she leave her alone, as he doesn't want her condition to worsen and end up having to live with her once he marries Vanessa.

Raquel blames Vanessa for Carlos Alberto's daughter's illness. Virginia and her mother move into Esteban's house so they can be together.

Elena hits Vanessa and escapes from Esteban's house. Carlos Alberto confesses to Vanessa that he loves her and is willing to fight for their love.

Vanessa discovers that Elena is the heir to a large fortune, but she cannot claim it due to her mental condition.

Vanessa asks Carlos Alberto for forgiveness for pretending to be Virginia and tormenting him for so long. Raquel tells Carlos Alberto that she gave Danilo all the shares that belonged to them.

Esteban tells Vanessa that Carlos Alberto is with her only for her money, and she assures him that she will not allow him to play with her feelings. Vanessa demands that Danilo give Elena the inheritance that rightfully belongs to her.

Maximiliana bribes Esteban with a large sum of money to prevent Elena from claiming her inheritance. Vanessa becomes a wealthy woman after learning that Elena has named her as her heir.

Attorney Calderón refuses to help Maximiliana seize the Junquera fortune. Vanessa signs the necessary papers to claim her inheritance. Carlos Alberto asks Vanessa for a new chance to win her love.

Carlos Alberto confesses to Anabella the love he feels for Vanessa. Anabella comes up with a plan to win Carlos Alberto over. Violeta thinks Johnny has forgotten about her. Carlos Alberto is upset when he learns that Vanessa has left his house.

Maximiliana takes Elena to see Vanessa before she is taken to the women's prison. Vanessa gives the inspector a letter for Carlos Alberto. Zayda gives Vanessa a violent welcome in prison.

Vanessa meets Dr. Eduardo, who immediately takes an interest in her. Esteban intends to investigate Raquel's death further. Danilo confesses to Carlos Alberto that Elena witnessed Vanessa killing Raquel.

Violeta testifies against Vanessa. Vanessa begins working with Dr. Eduardo in the prison infirmary, and he confesses that he loves her. Esteban questions Elena about Raquel's death and concludes that Vanessa is innocent.

Carlos Alberto and Aldo find out that Violeta is pregnant. Esteban confesses to Vanessa that Danilo killed Raquel. Silvana confesses to Vanessa that she is in love with Carlos Alberto.

Eduardo tells Carlos Alberto that he is in love with Vanessa. Elena reports Danilo as Raquel's killer. Maximiliana learns that Elena and Arnulfo reported Danilo. Danilo is arrested as the prime suspect in Raquel's murder.

Vanessa reproaches Carlos Alberto for not supporting her when she needed him. Maximiliana finds out that Danilo confessed to being guilty of Raquel's death. Vanessa is released from prison and reunites with Elena to begin a new life.

Carlos Alberto tells Vanessa that he is still in love with her. Silvana reproaches Carlos Alberto for not telling Vanessa the truth about his house. Norma confesses to Vanessa that Eduardo is about to die and asks her to marry him.

Vanessa tells Eduardo that she will marry him. Danilo begins to have hallucinations of Raquel. Sagrario tells Vanessa that Carlos Alberto is going to marry Silvana. Eduardo learns that he has little time left to live.

Violeta feels lost and asks Carlos Alberto for help. The small plane Carlos Alberto is traveling in crashes, and he is presumed dead. Danilo thinks he sees Raquel in his cell and loses his sanity.

Vanessa and the Junquera siblings grieve over Carlos Alberto's death, unaware that he is actually alive. Vanessa decides to marry Eduardo to make him happy during the final days of his life.

Vanessa discovers that Carlos Alberto is alive, and he questions her about her wedding to Eduardo. Carlos Alberto resigns himself to being disfigured. Silvana confronts Vanessa and makes it clear that she will not allow her to get close to Carlos Alberto.

Vanessa cannot confess to Carlos Alberto that she truly loves him because she feels obligated to marry Eduardo out of compassion. Carlos Alberto's health deteriorates because of Vanessa's silence.

Carlos Alberto cannot accept that Vanessa is marrying Eduardo at the cost of her own happiness. Eduardo and Vanessa's wedding takes place at the same time that Carlos Alberto undergoes surgery to heal his injuries.

Vanessa marries Eduardo. Carlos Alberto suffers when he learns that Vanessa has married Eduardo. Norma fears that Eduardo will not be happy with Vanessa.

Norma confesses to Elena that Dr. Colmenares is Eduardo's real father. Eduardo plans to make Vanessa's life miserable after learning that she is still in contact with Carlos Alberto.

Violeta neglects her pregnancy, unaware of the consequences it will bring. Vanessa becomes jealous when she learns that Carlos Alberto is in love with Silvana. Eduardo discovers that Dr. Colmenares is his father.

Silvana discovers that Carlos Alberto is secretly seeing Vanessa. Carlos Alberto asks Vanessa to end her commitment to Eduardo.

Because of his jealousy, Eduardo tries to kill Vanessa. Before dying, he asks Vanessa to be happy with Carlos Alberto. Vanessa and Carlos Alberto finally manage to build a family and live happily ever after.
