Estelle ignores all warnings and continues snooping for the sinister Brothers of Judas, as does Europol. After she helps professor Daniel Brac save the papal treasure from a robber, he ends up among the new victims. She teams up with archaeological site supervisor Olivier Royal.

Julien's mother is just in time to prevent him committing suicide over his denied paternity, but father and uncle show no concern.

He is prepared to sacrifice his life as the frescoes demand, she refuses to risk her lover, until they find a second fresco. They end up recapturing the stave in a mill once owned by Nostradamus. Mehdi finally accepts to face his fate.
