After the loss of her parents, 8-year-old Violette is placed with her uncle Régis, a gruff maintenance worker at the Palace of Versailles. Despite a difficult start, Violette and Régis learn to live together and overcome life's challenges. Between floods, complicated friendships, first loves, and a Christmas trip to her grandparents, they gradually build a new life full of discoveries and tender moments in the heart of Versailles.
