As they walk through the first home, Peggy, a former convicted felon who is now one of the most successful agents at the lake, will share her redemption story with the couple. And, Jonas and Justin, brothers who now run the real estate agency founded by their parents, will visit the North Shore and Camdenton to help local business owners snatch up their dream weekend cabin on the lake.

The banker who gave Peggy her first big break in real estate is back looking for a new luxury home to fit a family overflowing with grandchildren. Cierra's high school friend looks to settle into a lake house that she loves, but she's on a strict budget.

Peggy has to get creative to find a lakefront dream home for her clients on a condo budget. Cierra's reputation is on the line when she struggles to find the ultimate estate for her well-connected buyers who were former clients of her successful parents.

Against this backdrop of change, the story begins in 1882 — introducing young Marian Brook, the orphaned daughter of a Union general, who moves into the New York City home of her thoroughly old money aunts Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook. Accompanied by Peggy Scott, an accomplished African-American woman, Marian inadvertently becomes enmeshed in a social war between one of her aunts, a scion of the old money set, and her stupendously rich neighbors, a ruthless railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife, George and Bertha Russell.
