Good thing they have Florence's art historian father in the wings for consultation. Through their intriguing investigations they delve into the history of great artists and follow in the footsteps of renowned masters. The cases lead them through the spectacular cultural landscape of Paris. The unlikely duo learns that the key to understanding the crimes lies in the works of art themselves. They also learn they can no longer do without each other... to solve the investigations.

To solve the crimes, the mismatched duo must decipher paintings to learn the artist's personality and understand the thief's motivations.

From the ochre landscapes of Aix-en-Provence and Mont Sainte-Victoire, to the wax figures illustrating the tumultuous French Revolution at the Musée Grévin, and including the famous galleries of the Louvre, our duo will have to be ingenious to understand the intimate connection between the murderers they are pursuing and these masterpieces of painting. Our two investigators will also have to unravel the true nature of their feelings for one another because, while the word "friendship" can be used loosely, desire does not lie.
