2022. Abel Guérin, a brilliant biathlete admired by all, is found dead on the training launch pad, shot in the head by a rifle bullet. Awa Sissako, a young captain from the neighboring metropolis, is dispatched to the case to support Lieutenant Achille Salvi. As the investigation progresses, the picture of the ideal sportsman falls apart...

The investigators identify another victim of sexual harassment among the French Biathlon team: Lena, a friend of Abel, who has just tried to end her life. By questioning him, Awa discovers the sad truth. Jean, the team's coach, is a fearsome sexual predator, and Abel, whom Lena had confided in the very morning of her death, tried to confront him. The assassin of the young athlete then seems all designated. Terrible news for Justine, whom Achille discovers with horror that she was the coach's mistress. For her part, Nelly, Abel's mother, receives a visit from Frédérik Mayor, a journalist presenting himself as the director of a documentary on Abel.

The rivalry between the two brothers becomes obvious to the investigators... all the more so when they discover that Manon, Abel's so-called ideal fiancée, was having a clandestine relationship with her brother!
