Приматы II

During the interrogation after his arrest, Karpov is in no hurry to confess to the murder of Meshcherina and two attempts on Rudakov, but on the contrary, threatens Voronina with consequences, and asks Dauntless to figure everything out. Rudakov invites the entire department, headed by Karapetyan, to a reception in his honor. Neither Karapetyan nor Dauntless likes this idea, but Voronina unexpectedly agrees, hoping to learn more about the "dark horse" of the Sochi elections, Rudakov, and his entourage. Meanwhile, the body of murdered photographer Alexander Sarychev is found in Sochi. Operatives find out that the photographer's reputation was bad - they didn't like him on Sochi beaches. On the eve of his death, Sarychev handed over all his animals for overexposure... At a reception in honor of Rudakov, hosted by his neighbor Aglaev, Voronina realizes that more information needs to be gathered about the two of them. Dauntless and Kubik interrogate photographer Karpushin, with whom Sarychev had a conflict. He says that Sarycheva's trained monkey was stealing things from vacationers on the beach. During the investigative experiment, Voronina finds a cache of stolen items, which, among other things, contains a bag of diamonds. Assuming that the photographer was killed because of them, the opera sets up a trap for the criminal. At this time, in St. Petersburg, the daughter of a Reckless Driver, Alice, stops answering the phone, having turned to her father for help the day before.
