Episodes

Episode 1
Lorraine starts her epic coastal journey in Alesund, the gateway to the fjords, before sailing through the Hjorundfjord. She visits the tiny settlements on its banks, hikes the jagged mountains of the Sunnmore Alps and meets local people who've chosen a timeless, rural life that reminds her of islands back in Scotland. Learning of Friluftsliv, the concept of living in and embracing nature, she enjoys a dip in the chilly waters, before warming up in one of the region's many floating saunas. She then sails through the night to Trondheim, a foodie capital that used to be Norway's Viking capital. Learning about the city's fascinating history while kayaking down its famous River Nid, Lorraine arrives at one of its cutting-edge restaurants to help cook up a feast from ingredients foraged from nearby beaches and woodlands.

Travelling through Norway's epic fjords, over majestic mountains and to dramatic volcanic islands, the veteran presenter embraces the local culture, food and traditions of the nation, before fulfilling a lifelong dream of witnessing the spectacular Northern Lights. She later sails through one of the world's most beautiful archipelagos, the Lofoten Islands, where she braves the icy waters to harvest seaweed that thrives in the powerful Nappstraumen current.
