Los 80 is set between 1982 and 1990 (although with small leaps to 2014), in the middle of the dictatorship of Pinochet and revolves around the various historical events that occurred during the 1980s, and which marked the country leaving ahistorical legacy such as the great economic crisis of those years and the 7.8 MW earthquake that occurred in 1985 in Santiago.All these events are shown and narrated from the reality of a Santiago middle class family of Chile typical of those years and how they lived the reality of that decade.
