Keitaro Urashima promised a girl 15 years ago that they'd get into Tokyo University together. Now a second-year ronin (failed applicant), he heads to his grandmother's inn to focus on studying. But to his shock, the inn has become an all-girls dormitory—Hinata House!

Shinobu, the timid daughter of a local diner, faces moving away due to family issues. Unable to voice her feelings, she begins preparing to leave. Just then, she meets Keitaro and the quirky residents of Hinata House, and her life starts to change.

When resident swordswoman Motoko returns from a training camp to find a man in the dorm, she declares war on Keitaro. But despite her fierce protests, her heart starts pounding every time she sees him. Is this… love?

Keitaro's secret as a mere cram school student is exposed. The girls agree to let him stay as manager—on the condition that he studies hard and gets into Tokyo U. Meanwhile, Naru suggests he consider another university, causing tension and confusion.

After their entrance exams, Keitaro and Naru both decide to travel—coincidentally to Kyoto, and even on the same train. With broken glasses and blurred vision, they end up spending the trip together without recognizing each other. Back at Hinata House, scandalous rumors start flying.
