Love in the 21st Century - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Reproduction
Fay is about to hit 30 and is worried she's left it too late to have a baby. To make matters worse, all her friends (and even her younger sister) are breeding like rabbits. It's not that she doesn't meet any men - they're just not the right ones. She wants to find a man with great genes, preferably someone professional in a high income bracket. Oh, and he must also be honest, charming and hygienic, have the right hair colour, great dress sense and be well-hung! Despite such specifics, Fay manages to find such a specimen, and bump into him to attract his attention. His name is John and he's a doctor - perfect father material. All she has to do now is steal his sperm...

Threesomes
Louise and Kate are twenty-something superbabes who have been best mates since they were kids. They share everything: a flat in the funky part of Manchester; a market stall where they sell handmade jewellery and they are about to share their first man. Louise earns extra cash as a guinea pig in sleep deprivation experiments. This is where she meets Charlie, a cute, dishevelled doctor who is assigned to monitor her. It's not long before they embark on a passionate love affair. But when Kate and Charlie meet for the first time, the attraction between them is electric, and it's not long before Louise starts to get paranoid. When Kate complains that she's short of cash, Charlie suggests that she does a stint at the sleep centre. Sure enough, the two are soon tearing each other's clothes off. Trouble starts when Louise announces she's planning to ask Charlie to move in, and Kate admits she's in love with him. The girls head for the sleep centre to confront Charlie.

Toy-Boys
When Ryan starts to show an interest in Sarah she is delighted - she's bored with her husband and wants some excitement. However, Ryan is 15, and Sarah is his teacher.

Masturbation
Jack and Amanda have been together for years and are still in love - they even still have great sex. Rob and Claire are their oldest friends. In comparison to Rob's messy love life and Claire's trouble with men, Jack and Amanda seem to enjoy a perfect relationship. But it all begins to fall apart when Amanda catches Jack by surprise while he is enjoying some self love. Particularly as he foolishly admits to her that he sometimes does it while fantasising about women they both know (including Claire... ). Amanda tries to laugh it off, but she's jealous and becomes increasingly insecure about Jack's friendship with Claire, interpreting every nuance between them as proof of his infidelity. Jack attempts a reconciliation with Amanda, armed with flowers. As a conciliatory gesture, he throws his adult mags away. All seems to be hunky dory again, but is it really?

Fantasies
Anna and Sean decide to spice up their sex life by playing out different fantasies, but they discover that they have very different ideas about what they want to do.

Commitment
Ellie has got it all - great looks, bucket loads of confidence, her own business and a gorgeous solicitor boyfriend, Nick. But she wants a sense of permanancy and to know there's a future to their relationship. However, she's convinced that Nick is too frightened of commitment to pop the question. So, with her friend and PA Michael as a willing accomplice, Ellie hatches an elaborate scheme to get Nick down the aisle. She tries making Nick jealous, by flirting with Peter, and refusing to take his calls. When that fails she takes a huge gamble and books a church for the wedding. To trap Nick into proposing, all she has to do is make him believe he's about to lose her for good, so she concocts a story about a business deal in Paris that will take her out of the UK for three months. When Nick hears the message, he's furious she hasn't told him of the trip before.
