Love It or List It: Brilliant Builds - Season 5

Season 5

Episodes

Episode 1
Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer look back at some more of their builds and inspiring house-hunts. In Birmingham, Nikki and Bash's three-bed, one-bath house was no longer fit for their family of five. Kirstie had concerns over their £100,000 budget and wanted them to avoid over-spending - but did they heed her advice? In Stoke, Julie and Allen were at loggerheads over their three-bed home. Kirstie literally ripped up her own original plan and pitched another with a reduced spend that blew them both away. Phil, however, found them the perfect home across the road from Allen's favourite pub.

Episode 2
The dynamic-duo look back on past builds that used walls in interesting ways, moving one wall in a flat in Newtownards created a solution for Brian and Amy's storage issues and in Wapping, Kirstie pitched a plan to enlarge a small kitchen and create a whole new room without the need for an extension.

Episode 3
Kirstie and Phil look back at one couple who grappled with a dysfunctional floorplan, and another who faced moving from their family home of three decades. In Bradford, Michelle wanted to list the home which was originally bought by her partner Andrew. Kirstie offered up a clever plan to re-imagine rooms and improve the small kitchen, while also helping Michelle inject her own personality into the monotone interior. Phil on the other hand had met his match as he tried to sway team Love It's Andrew with three incredible properties. But what did they decide? In Mapperley in Nottinghamshire, Sue and Richard were at an impasse over their home of 30 years. With Richard's restricted mobility, it was difficult for him to get around their two-storey property. So, while Kirstie impressed with an ingenious change of use to the downstairs rooms, Phil set out to wow the couple with three single-storey properties. The stakes were high but, in the end, who bought the drinks? And what did Sue and Richard do next?

Episode 4
Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer look back at two renovations where one couple recalibrated their build and budget to accommodate rising costs, while another dramatically altered plans when a huge curveball threatened the land that their home is on. In Nottingham, Lexie and Ed were struggling to fit their growing family into a four-bedroom property. Kirstie came up with a cunning plan to convince Ed over to Team Love It, but compromises had to be made to ensure they didn't overspend. Meanwhile, Phil had £450,000 and three stunning properties up his sleeve, but were they enough to sway Lexie? In Scotland, Heather and Tim's seven-acre property in Lothianburn, south of Edinburgh, lent itself to their lifestyle, but the dysfunctional layout didn't, and Tim was ready to list it. Kirstie dealt with a monumental surprise that threatened to derail her build and dramatically alter her plans, while Phil had a long and tricky shopping list for his search, including a bath with a view.
