A man quickly feels out of place after moving in with his wife in her grandmother's old house. The home is dated, closed off and hosting family gatherings has become problematic. David steps in to help them find the perfect home to entertain in but the emotional bond she has with the house is strong and she doesn't want to consider moving. Hilary is on hand to wow them with an update that should bring this house into the 21st century. Will they end up in a new home, or will they continue to build family memories in the family's house?

One Last Renovation
Kerry and Dave renovated and added to their home as their family grew, but their three kids have taken over every common room, leaving little to no space for the couple. Kerry would love a home with updated bathrooms and a dedicated space for the kids, but Dave is attached to the house their children grew up in and refuses to move. With one last renovation from designer Hilary, can this couple love their home, or will real estate agent David find them a house with plenty of space and function for the whole family?

Community Calling
A couple debates the benefits of getting a home with more space for entertaining vs. making changes to their existing house so they can preserve memories with their kids. After a decade of DIY renovations, the couple brings in Hilary and David to help them either fix up their current home or find something newer, bigger and closer to their friends. Will Hilary create enough space for the family's needs or will David find them the perfect spot closer to their community?

Need for Efficiency
A couple loves the character of their 1960s home, but he wants something more energy efficient with space to expand their family. She thinks a renovation can fix the functional flaws, so Hilary is tasked with a remodel that gives the family room to flourish.

Happy Trails, Unhappy Home
High school sweethearts that purchased a starter home near their beloved bike trail are now desperate for more space. They love to host gatherings, but the main floor is cut off and the dining area only seats four. After seeing Hilary's design, the couple must decide whether to keep their home or move into one of David's finds.

Home Working Woes
New parents and ambitious entrepreneurs Whitney and Taylor need more space for their family and business ventures. Can designer Hilary create space for their side projects while adding function to the main areas, or will real estate agent David find them a new home that will allow their family and careers to grow?

First House Frustrations
The decision to start a family prompted Ben and Courtney to buy their first house, a 1930s-era, ivy-covered brick home with a lot of charm and a lot of issues, including a flooded basement. Ben loves that their home is on a mature tree-lined street in a walkable neighborhood, but Courtney is expecting their second child and wants a functioning kitchen, a larger master en suite and a renovated basement.

Kitchen Catastrophe
Chris and Maria moved into their home with two kids, but now with four children, the house and its tiny kitchen feel cramped and cluttered. Maria wants a house with a gourmet kitchen closer to her work to shorten her long commute, but Chris loves the neighborhood and thinks he knows how to unlock the home's potential. Will designer Hilary create an open, family-friendly space, or will real estate agent David find them a new home with everything they need?

The series follows Bob who runs Bob's Burgers, with the help of his wife and their three kids. Bob has big ideas about burgers, but the rest of the clan falls short on service. Despite the greasy counters and lousy location, the Belchers are determined to make every "Grand Re-Re-Re-opening" a success. Bob's wife, Linda, stands by her man and often does so by bursting into song. Their eldest daughter, 13-year-old Tina has a slight obsession with boys and zombies. Middle child Gene is an aspiring musician with a thirst for life. Louise is the bunny ears-wearing youngest daughter with an off-kilter sense of humor that makes her somewhat of a liability in the kitchen – and with the public.
