Recent law graduate Katarina Tammi gets hired as a contract lawyer alongside her law school friend Aki Makkonen. Engineer Risto Salminen sets out to make the smallest mobile phone in the world.

A power struggle breaks out between Nokia's leadership. Katarina shows her skills as a negotiator. Nokia is blindsided by a patent infringement lawsuit.

Katarina and Aki work on the defence for the Motorola case. A series of cutbacks at Nokia lead to Risto's project being unexpectedly scrapped.
