Maestro - Season 1

Eight famous Dutch people are facing their biggest challenge in life as of yet; To conduct one of the biggest symphony orchestra. Without any preparation they have to conduct the orchestra.

The remaining seven candidates will receive their first training to conduct. Will they be able to improve their conduction or is it going to be a disaster once again?

This third episode is all about famous moviemusic. The six remaining candidates are taught by Leopold de Witte about expression and empathy! Who is able to use this information on stage and will be closer to the title; Maestro of the Netherlands?

The remaining five conductors will have to conduct a famous Dutch concertchoir next to the orchestra Holland Symfonia. This means a completely new approach for the five. How will they deal with this?

Bandoneon Carel Kraayenhof and Violist Simone Lamsma will be joining us. A new element for the remaining candidates. Conducting a solist next to the orchestra. How does Adiós Nonino, known because of Maxima's tears, sound for example when conducted by one of our candidates?

The theme of Episode 6 will be ''Show and Musical''. The three remaining candidates conduct the most beautiful songs of the Musical industry & vocalists Wouter Hamel, Joke de Kruijf and Pearl Jozefzoon next to the orchestra,

This opera is all about Opera. The candidates conduct an aria with mezzo soprano Tania Kross and next to that a brilliant overture. This episode will decide the two final candidates for the final!

The final of Maestro Season 1. Both finalists will go to Chicago for a masterclass. Who will be victorious and can call themself Maestro of the Netherlands?

All previous candidates will return to stage to conduct a relay of Radetzkymars of Johan Strauss sr.
