After 36 years in prison, Ghaneema is released and moves in with her old friend Haya. While walking around the city recalling the past, she witnesses a violent incident.

While going through an old bag of hers, Ghaneema finds a letter addressed to her. Meanwhile, Haya's son Khaled tries to investigate her case.

Fawzeya's situation at work gets more complicated. Meanwhile, Mishaal tries to convince Ghaneema once again to live with him and his family.

Bookish marries post-war nostalgia with the reckless and life-affirming atmosphere of the times, creating a fast-paced and stylish detective drama.
