Home Sweet Home

Everyone comes from somewhere, and each Maker's background shapes their unique crafting style! This is especially true on the second week of Making It, where the theme this week is homes! Amy and Nick kick off the episode by challenging the Makers to work small and create a hometown terrarium that represent in miniature what makes their hometowns so special. After giving Amy, Nick, and the judges a glimpse into their past, the Makers then must embrace their inner child in the Master Craft Challenge. They create an impressive child's play collection consisting of a fort and toy for the kids in their lives! At the end of the episode, Amy & Nick reluctantly say goodbye to the Maker who's execution didn't live up to the original vision, but not without plenty of laughs along the way.

Party Time!
Season 1Episode 360 min

Party Time!

Like anything you learn to master, it's important to be sure that it stays fun! And, because nothing is more fun than a good party, this week's theme is entertaining. First up, Nick and Amy ask the Makers to design spectacular snack stadiums that will be the real MVPs of the sports party! Most of the Makers have never worked with edible crafts before, so it's a real challenge. Overall, the Makers elevated approach to tackling the challenge from an aesthetic POV leaves Nick hungry for meats and cheeses. The Makers keep the party going with this week's Master Craft Challenge, where they use recycled materials to create essential items for a backyard bonanza. They must put together a themed party with seating for four and an outdoor activity. The Makers impress the judges with their spectacular themes and ingenious use of repurposed materials but sadly the party is over for one Maker whose creative bonanza fails to come together as a cohesive collection.

All of the Holidays at Once

On week four of Making It, Amy, Nick and the Makers are celebrating the holidays.. all at once! The Maker's kick off the festivities with the scariest holiday of them all, Halloween. They'll have to get crafty in order to design inventive costumes for a last minute costume party using common household materials. The Makers lean hard into the puns for their concepts, with one in particular scaring the socks off of the competition with a frightening ensemble. Having impressed the judges with their spook-tacular costumes, the Makers are tasked with bringing holiday cheer to the whole neighborhood. For this week's Master Craft challenge, the Makers each pick their favorite holiday and create a festive display for their home's front door. The result is as fun as Christmas morning as all of the maker's holiday doors compete for curb appeal in one epic block party. In the end, the Makers put together displays that would make any neighbor jealous, though the holiday celebrations must be cut short for one of our Makers who's festive work lacked a bit of originality.
