Man v Expert - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Episode 1
Ultra-competitive hustler Alexis Conran takes on experts and champions in gruelling head-to-head challenges, to see if he can short-cut his way to victory. In our first episode, Alexis combines Mother Nature and an unimaginable science experiment in an attempt to beat a world champion angler; comes up with an ingenious plan to hopefully outsmart a spelling champion; and travels to Poland to flex his muscles against the world's strongest man.

Episode 2
Alexis will do anything it takes to get a leg up on the competition. In this episode, he sees a childhood dream come true as he takes on a penalty shootout against the Premier League's greatest-ever penalty taker, Matt le Tissier. He also takes to the track in an attempt to out-tool an Australian rally car mechanic, and later ends up behind bars and hooked up to a polygraph machine in a New York City prison. Can our conman lie his way to a win?

Episode 3
With a new challenge in the crosshairs, Alexis travels to America to improve his aim in the shooting range before a showdown with a champion marksman. Looking for a surefire way to ensure a victory, Alexis calls on a co-conspirator in an attempt to outsmart a maths whiz - but can he really pull one over on a University of Oxford professor of number theory? Lastly, he attempts to row his way to victory in a one-on-one kayak race against a five-time European and 11-time Slovakian Champion.

Episode 4
Can Alexis possibly compete with a prodigy? Bypassing years of experience and training, he attempts to defeat a nine-time Latvian motocross champion who was born to ride. Alexis also has high hopes of carving up an expert lumberjack in a head-to-head competition, and travels to the gateway of the Amalfi Coast with an elaborate plan to out-cook a Michelin-starred chef.

Episode 5
Will Alexis be able to hustle his way past a home-field advantage? Find out as he throws down against one of the greatest ten-pin bowlers of all time, in an All-America sporting challenge at the home of bowling. Later, Alexis devises an ingenious plan to dance his way around a former Royal Marine Commando in an assault course race, and hopes to squeak out a win against a world class Polish musician.

Episode 6
How well do you know your city? Well enough to beat a local taxi driver in a race across town? In this episode, Alexis hops behind the wheel in London, and challenges its legendary black cab drivers and their knowledge of the city to a race across the capital. Then, with the odds stacked against him in unknown territory, he attempts to out-smart a professional tracker and his team of sniffer dogs in America's Blue Ridge Mountain Range. Once this ultimate evasion challenge is over, Alexis needs to win against a grandmaster of memory. But who will come out on top - man or expert?

King and Conqueror
King and Conqueror is the story of a clash that defined the future of a country – and a continent – for a thousand years, the roots of which stretch back decades and extend out through a pair of interconnected family dynasties, struggling for power across two countries and a raging sea. Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; two allies with no design on the British throne, who found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown.
