Maria makes a promise to one of the women, but the group loses another woman to childbirth. Maria's greatest fear is confirmed and she is removed from the Cangaço. Back at her mother Déa's house, she is reunited with her sister Dondon and meets her niece Amália, who greatly admires her aunt. Five months pass and, while Maria and Dondon disagree, aunt and niece grow closer. Meanwhile, Silvério continues to leave a trail of blood in search of the cangaceiros' whereabouts. Suffering from health problems, Lampião receives news from Corisco, who has come from the city. They talk about the group's future. In the city, Dondon overhears alarming news and warns Maria, who does not think twice and decides to leave her mother's house.
