A Lei do Cangaço
Lampião consults a doctor, who recommends a period of rest. He then moves the gang to spend some time on the farm of Federalina, the widow of his late friend, where mother and daughter now live. Maria is enchanted by their lifestyle, speaking French and playing the piano, and dreams of her family life. Lampião asks Federalina for help to buy land in another state. She promises to help, but has other intentions. Maria and Lampião do not forgive her. Meanwhile, Lurdes and Curió get dangerously close. In order not to offend the honor of the men, Lampião ignores Maria's plea and, outraged, she decides to leave him.

But more by accident than design, Carl starts to build a gang of waifs and strays who have everything to prove. So, when the stone-cold trail of a prominent civil servant who disappeared several years ago starts to heat up, Carl is back doing what he does best - rattling cages and refusing to take no for an answer.
