Mary is scrubbing her kitchen top. Martha enters. Martha asks what is going on between Tom and her. Martha says she doesn't know what's wrong with her family...Grandpa Larkin is running around with Roberta and Fanny Crookshanks, Cathy's going out with a deaf and mute boy, and Tom and Mary are having problems in their marriage. Martha pleads with Mary to tell her what's wrong in her marriage. Heather comes down and gets something to eat and leaves. Mary starts to leave the room. Martha asks where she's going. Mary, starting to weep, says she has to sanatize her toliet. Martha also startings weeping. Martha tells Mary she wants them to appologize to each other. Later, Mary is alone in her kitchen reading a book. Loretta enters with a goldfish bowl. Loretta tells her she's leaving for Nashville in the morning and asks Mary if she can take care of her golfish Conway and Twitty. Loretta asks Mary if she's alright in her relationship with Tom.
