The auditions conclude as the Gen X chefs take over the kitchen. Each contestant has 45 minutes to prepare a signature dish that will impress the judges and secure one of the final five spots in the competition.

The four generations go head-to-head as the top 20 enter the MasterChef kitchen. The chefs are faced with their first mystery box challenge where they are presented with a childhood photo of themselves and tasked with creating a restaurant-worthy dish that highlights their favorite nostalgic comfort foods from their youth. The most impressive dish grants an entire generation immunity from elimination while a chef from the remaining three teams risks going home.

The multigenerational chefs are tasked with creating a stunning dish using a variety of aged and fermented ingredients. With the safety of an immunity pin, the winner of last week's challenge chooses a generation to incorporate a surprise ingredient into their dishes. The chef with the best dish will earn an immunity pin and protect the remaining chefs within their generation from elimination.

The four generations are split into teams as they take on their first field challenge - cooking a healthy and hearty meal for professional soccer players. The chefs must work together to cook over 100 portions of food and the pressure intensifies as the generations collide. Both teams compete head-to-head in hopes of scoring a win and earning the safety from elimination.

The chefs must incorporate the iconic beer, Blue Moon, into their dishes and ensure that the bright flavors are at the forefront of their creations.

 

The chefs take on another field challenge as they are tasked with cooking a hearty lunch for over 100 workers.

The twelve remaining chefs work in pairs and switch off cooking back-and-forth during the infamous tag team challenge.

 

The contestants are given only 45 minutes to prepare a restaurant quality dish that features coffee, and Chef Gordon Ramsay kicks off the challenge with a demonstration of his own espresso-infused dish.

The MasterChef kitchen heats up as the top ten contestants are faced with a fiery mystery box challenge!

 

Later on, the top eight chefs face an unexpected surprise and discover that they must work in pairs to cook identical dishes from opposite sides of a wall.

The top six home chefs get a break from the MasterChef kitchen to take over Ramsay's Rooftop, an exclusive pop-up restaurant open for one night only in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.

 

The top five chefs face two back-to-back challenges involving a mystery box and replicating a restaurant quality dish.

The top three chefs must create a three-course meal, starting with an awe-inspiring appetizer.

The chefs must create entrée and dessert courses that highlight their backgrounds and skill sets.
