Episode 7

The Heats continue as four more brave chefs start their MasterChef journey with their sights set on the title. It's sink or swim as the contenders face the intense glare of the judges in the infamous Skills Test. They then have the chance to show off their individual style in the Signature Menu round. Can they steady their jitters and deliver two outstanding dishes that reach the impeccable standards of the judges?

The first two chefs face Monica's Skills Test as they are challenged to prepare a dish of pork loin served with a bramley apple purée, charred baby gem and a cognac sauce. With only 20 minutes and the judges watching, the chefs will need to cook with precision and flair if they hope to make a good first impression.

Next, it's fish skills for the final two professionals as Marcus challenges them to make a crab bisque served with the crab claw meat and a portion of john dory fish. As the chefs are faced with a whole crab, the judges will be looking for a deft touch.

All four contenders will then have a final chance to make their mark as they cook their own two-course Signature Menu. They have just one hour and 30 minutes to pull out all the stops and show what makes them stand out from the crowd.

Only the two best chefs will go on to this week's quarter-final and continue in the race to become MasterChef: The Professionals champion 2023.
