Matt Lincoln - Season 1

An unwed mother seeks help in placing her baby up for adoption.

Charles becomes unhinged when he feels wronged by police and becomes an urban sniper. Dr. Lincoln is enlisted to assist in finding the shooter, giving him an opportunity to help the desperate man.

Nina appears to be the perfect daughter but she is hiding a heroin addiction. But after it's discovered she agrees to go to Dr. Lincoln for treatment. She pretends the therapy is helping but she continues using.

Matt attempts to reconcile an affluent father with his idealistic son and finds himself in the middle of a deadly communications gap. Young Steve Henshaw has allied himself with a militant group bent on destroying his father's pollution causing chemical plant.

Matt's old girlfriend Jilly, a governor's daughter, comes back into his life and at first he is elated. After he learns of her impending blindness he helps her accept her future.

Father Nicholas Burrell is suffering a crisis of faith and turns to Dr. Matt for help. He has fallen in love but his religion doesn't allow him to marry and have a family yet remain a priest.

Dr. Lincoln's life is threatened when he invades a hippie commune to try and save a retarded girl who has overdosed.

Matt returns to Lakeview when he learns an old friend needs help. Doc is the only physician is the area and has taken to drinking heavily since the death of his wife. Matt tries to assist the man who helped him in his career.

Matt and his retired father Matthew, also a physician, team up to identify at risk expectant mothers. Their primary concern is women who have diabetes but aren't aware, putting their pregnancies in jeopardy.

Dr. Lincoln helps a young frightened Japanese girl stowaway, suffering from malnutrition, who has come to America seeking her GI boyfriend.

When a 13-year-old black youngster, son of a white father, threatens to jump from a building, Dr. Lincoln is summoned.

After Matt saves young Adam from drowning he meets the widowed mother Lia. They fall in love and after a whirlwind courtship decide to marry. But a tragic medical diagnosis means their time together will be short.

Despite his own sorrow Matt must get through to his new stepson Adam. The boy is overwhelmed with grief and can't accept the sudden death of his mother.

Matt delves into the case of five students that are dismissed from school when previously on probation.

Matt must use his psychiatric training when a mother Karen confesses that she beats her toddler. Rather then jail it is hoped that the woman gains some insight when she begins work at a halfway house.

Dr. Lincoln attempts to help a brilliant concert pianist cope with his loss of hearing.
