After a tragic event, Russian exile Alex Godman is drawn into the murky world of global crime as he tries to protect his family from their dark past.

A young woman, Lyudmilla, arrives in Cairo to take up a job as a beautician, only to find she has been deceived and kidnapped by a human trafficking ring.

Meanwhile, Semiyon meets his associate in Mumbai - Dilly - to discuss how to challenge Benny Chopra's control of the main port. Dilly argues that he will need a great deal of money to cause any disruption, so Semiyon has Alex transfer Dilly the cash through a complex and untraceable offshore route.

Weeks have passed since the events at the end of episode two and business is now thriving in Prague.

With the help of Semiyon's investment, Benes has grown his operation, leaving Vadim concerned and confused. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, Vadim arrives in Prague determined to get answers - by whatever means necessary.

Alex unlocks a way to attack Benny Chopra and Vadim in Mumbai. He and Rebecca announce their engagement, but she starts to think he is hiding something.

Semiyon's fortunes continue to rise but he and Alex disagree on how to proceed, with Alex wanting to turn the pressure up on Vadim. In the UK, Alex and Rebecca announce their engagement - but it is clear he is distracted. The next morning he receives a shocking call: Semiyon has been arrested in Tel Aviv...

Having almost lost hope that Semiyon will ever let her go, Lyudmilla realises she might have some leverage. Meanwhile, Masha confesses her secret to Katya, and, with Alex away in Israel, Rebecca grows closer to Antonio.

Alex fears Vadim's next move as he increases the family's security. Rebecca is torn and moves out as she struggles with Alex's choices.

After the shocking events in episode six, Alex is finally forced to come clean.

Peace negotiations between Alex and Semiyon, and Vadim and Ilya in Istanbul, seem to bring matters to a close, but, unbeknownst to him, Alex has been betrayed once more.

Vadim, conflicted by the violence of his work and his love for his daughter, considers his next move.

Alex arrives in Moscow ready to do business, but he's unaware of the devastation that Dmitri's actions have caused - and the danger that he faces. Alex must play the only card he has left to try and save himself, before facing a final showdown with Vadim.
