Season 3
In Series 3 of Meet the Mavericks, we meet musicians, filmmakers, theatre makers, installation artists, rappers, writers, comedians, and all round troublemakers. Each episode brings together two creative talents for an inspiring conversation about how they see the world, what drives them, what enrages them, and how they channel that passion into their work.
Whether from the same field or completely different areas of art and culture, these mavericks quiz each other and compare notes about their creative lives, giving the audience a deeper insight into the minds of the people who challenge and shape our cultural landscape.
Each week we meet a different pair of mavericks for a freewheeling and intimate conversation; the late-great satirist John Clarke sits down with pioneering British comedian turned author Alexei Sayle, ARIA-winning musician Missy Higgins jams with banjo-wielding comedian Anne Edmonds, rapper and comedian Adam Briggs and Grammy award-nominee Courtney Barnett talk about their fears of performing, theatre director Wesley Enoch talks about identity with British video artist Isaac Julien, and all-singing and performing Eddie Perfect meets writer and slam-poet Maxine Beneba Clarke to compare notes on growing up in the suburbs.

Here you'll find a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those that live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have "made it" and those who haven't are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.
