The participants bid farewell to their city lives and arrive in Maryborough, Victoria, where the three-month-long pilot project starts. Hector, an El Salvador-born chef, is eager to introduce some Latin American dishes to the local pub's menu.

Claire takes on a carer role for the elderly, but her lack of fluency in English makes her job difficult. The Singhs enjoy Maryborough since it reminds them of life back in India. Eduardo and Estela host a salsa night.

Episode 3
As the Pilot Project draws to a close - will the new residents stay or go? What will it mean for the town? And what are the lessons for Australia?
Disability support worker Estela's a godsend to Maryborough. But she's missing her family, and the Latin American culture she knows and loves back in Melbourne. Navdeep launches her catering business at Maryborough's biggest event of the year. But she may have bitten off more than she can chew. And injured cricketer Akon goes under the knife, but finds another way to give back to the town.
