Buddha Head and Purple Heart

A multi-cultural family breathes life into their blank-slate rec room with help from Anitra and the Mega Dens team. A narrow doorway separating two unused spaces is blown open to create on large family-friendly zone with two distinct personalities: a swanky media room with seating for grown-up get-togethers and a fun game room with shuffleboard and a kids' play loft with indoor slide. Joey uses super-rare Purple Heart wood to build the most striking entertainment center in Mega Dens history and then tops it off with the largest TV the team has ever used. There's also a heavy rustic-and-recycled vibe, with massive walnut timbers that are turned into a coffee table and a ceiling lamp made with just 300 yards of jute twine and glue. Add a custom wall mural featuring an eight-foot-tall Buddha head and Chinese lettering added by the homeowner and this Mega Den will blow everyone away.

Dept. Q
DCI Carl Morck is a brilliant cop but a terrible colleague. His razor-sharp sarcasm has made him no friends in Edinburgh police. After a shooting that leaves a young PC dead, and his partner paralysed, he finds himself exiled to the basement and the sole member of Department Q; a newly formed cold case unit. The department is a PR stunt, there to distract the public from the failures of an under-resourced, failing police force that is glad to see the back of him. But more by accident than design, Carl starts to build a gang of waifs and strays who have everything to prove. So, when the stone-cold trail of a prominent civil servant who disappeared several years ago starts to heat up, Carl is back doing what he does best - rattling cages and refusing to take no for an answer.
