Alex möchte am liebsten von allen in Ruhe gelassen werden und sich umgekehrt auch nicht um die Probleme ihrer Mitmenschen - speziell die Nöte ihrer Eltern - kümmern. Ein dummer Zufall macht Alex allerdings einen Strich durch die Rechnung: Als Ankes Terminplaner aus deren Handtasche fällt, kann Alex es sich nicht verkneifen, einen Blick in die Notizen ihrer Mutter zu werfen. Dabei muss Alex feststellen, dass Ankes Alltag offenbar von gähnender Langeweile bestimmt ist. Besorgt fragt Alex sich, ob das Leben ihrer Mutter tatsächlich völlig belanglos und öde ist. Um Ankes Seelenlage auszuloten und ihr ein wenig Abwechslung zu bieten, schlägt Alex selbstlos einen 'Mutter-Tochter-Tag' im Kosmetiksalon vor. Natürlich ist Anke begeistert, und so findet Alex sich bald Seite an Seite mit ihrer Mutter bei der kosmetischen Behandlung wieder - unentschieden, was sie schlimmer finden soll: Das Geplapper der Mutter oder die Avocadomaske auf ihrem Gesicht.
