Heroine Gu Nianhe is the domineering leader of XianYi sect, whose members have been forced to serve a General through poisoning. One day she sneaks into the General's mansion to find clues about the antidote, and there she finds and rescues a mysterious, wounded man, Mu Yichuan. She takes him as her servant and they make a deal: Mu Yichuan will tell her all he knows about the antidote if she heals him. Despite their initial untrust, in the process, the two of them grow closer. But among enemies both within and without, the General's continued demands, and Gu Nianhe's responsibilities to her sect, their future seems doomed. And Mu Yichuan's real purpose and identity is not as simple as it seems, either... Who will fall first?
