MH370: The Enigma of the Lost Flight - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

The Vanishing
The close relatives of those on-board, waiting desperately for news, grew increasingly frustrated with what they were being told by the authorities and what was being reported. Satellite data soon emerges showing the plane continued to fly for many hours after it disappeared from radar. And as the theories begin to emerge, suspicions about those on-board and in charge of the plane start to intensify while the frantic search for MH370 continues apace.

No Answers
Four months after MH370 disappeared, the world and the relatives of those on board are no closer to finding out what happened on the flight, or how it disappeared. As they become increasingly angered by the lack of information, many take matters into their own hands and start their own investigations, turning detective to dig deep into the evidence. With the multinational search of the southern Indian Ocean proving fruitless, there is no sign of any wreckage — until what could be debris seems to start washing ashore along the East African coastline. The official investigations dismiss the idea, but a maverick lone investigator starts to search the beaches himself. Soon pieces of wreckage start to emerge, and as he starts to talk about his findings, the group of relatives investigating the disappearance joins him in Madagascar, hoping to find something that reveals where MH370 is. A picture of what might have happened begins to emerge, and suspicions once again focus on the crew inside the plane.

On Board the Flight
When the government-led search for MH370 officially finishes, a private company with cutting-edge ocean-floor technology steps in to try and finally find the missing plane and provide answers for the relatives of those on board. Unofficial mapping from Australian academics points to a new location, but is similarly officially dismissed. As more is understood about the plane's debris and the official safety investigation comes to an end, its conclusions raise questions among aviation and industry experts who now believe they know what happened to MH370. The theories about the actions of the pilot and crew begin to crystallize, and a clearer picture of what may have caused the incident begins to emerge. Brand new analysis of cockpit records suggests shocking events on board the aircraft, and a controversial new mapping technology that narrowed down the search area dramatically brings with it new hope of finding MH370. Can this finally explain what exactly happened on-board the doomed flight?

Amandaland
Following three series of the Merman-produced, BAFTA award-winning series Motherland, a brand-new spin-off, Amandaland, is coming to the BBC, focused on Amanda.
Post her divorce, Amanda has had to downsize and up sticks to South Harlesden, or as the Estate Agent calls it SoHa (definitely not the area around Wormwood Scrubs prison).
With both Manus and Georgie now at secondary school, Amanda has to try and get her head around raising teenagers, dealing with modern motherhood horrors like teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts and eco anxiety. Not even a woman as certain of her parenting as Amanda can deal with these nightmares alone.
Then there's Amanda's mother Felicity who is constantly around, and completely in denial that she is, in fact, lonely. Theirs is a slightly unhealthy co-dependent relationship based on backhanded compliments and veiled snipes about her new home.
After a brief spell of freedom, Anne is sucked back into being Amanda's minion to help her navigate the social scene with the other parents at the children's new school. Thank God for Anne.
